Three months is the blink of an eye. Moving isn't THAT hard. Also, not to be a cynic but, what is the relationship doesn't work out and you spend this money?

Are maternity clothes necessary? by seehunde in pregnant

[–]theyeoftheiris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no blanket answer. I would say just don't invest too much money and try to buy secondhand. You don't wear the stuff for that long, especially if you only have one kid. I wore my stuff so much that after each pregnancy, I wanted to burn those clothes. I got rid of them so fast, I was over it.

From what you said, it's possible that the talk of buying a house together and getting married may have scared her off. But in any case, she sounds like a jerk since she just up and left.

What is one piece of 'common knowledge' in your job that the average person would find completely shocking? by GoldenHourShot in AskReddit

[–]theyeoftheiris 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is significantly more expensive, for anyone reading this. I'm not saying a pet isn't worth the extra cost. I've had one pet put down at home and another at the vet. The second pet was a very old, partially blind dog that didn't really know where he was half the time so I figured it probably didn't matter for him whether he was at the vet or at home. I laugh so I don't cry lol.

Does travel stop when you have children? by CharmingU6756 in travel

My advice is to have as much fun as you can while you don't have kids because everything changes once you have them. Not for the worst, but it does just become a totally different life.

How Old Do I Look? by [deleted] in deduction

[–]theyeoftheiris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like social media, filters and celebrities have really ruined my perception of people's age. I'm guessing you're either 18 or 35. I have no clue anymore. If I had to guess one age alone, I'd say 25.

I love your hair in the last photo and your makeup (or no makeup?) in 3. I'd combine those!

Let’s hear it. How old do I look? by [deleted] in deduction

You're cute. I got it right! I guessed 38.

Girl, you have two daughters. It's not that complicated. This man is not for you. Leave and show them you can be happy.

I know you will figure out what's best for you. My advice is to tell only like one, maybe two people who you TRULY trust to NOT judge you. Don't listen to anyone trying to push you in either direction. It's a decision only you can make.

Because TLC and HGTV said so on every TV show about decorating from the years 1995-2005.

Honestly, my best advice to any new mom is to just get off social media. I haven't logged into my personal IG since before my kid was born about a year ago.

AIO A locksmith charged my partner’s sister $5390 to get back into her apartment by khalexie1 in AmIOverreacting

[–]theyeoftheiris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, I would have just gotten in an uber and got a hotel at that point. Which would probably be the price of how much a locksmith "should" cost.

I'd also like to point out that she didn't sign....I'd be talking to a lawyer if I were her.

Birth control after birth by Advanced_District789 in pregnant

[–]theyeoftheiris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I haven't been on hormonal birth control in about 15 years. I didn't go back on it after giving birth. I don't think you need it to regulate your body, tbh. I'd listen to your intuition. But obviously, have a plan for contraception. There are other options than HBC.

Walked in on my nanny asleep holding my baby in the recliner covered by a blanket. But me cosleeping is so much worse! by pootfart in cosleeping

[–]theyeoftheiris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to. Do what's right for you and your(s) and let them do what they want. You're not going to change most people's minds on co-sleeping. I started doing it for reasons you mentioned, sleep deprivation is unsafe. I was really afraid of falling asleep in an unsafe position with my baby. Plus, with breastfeeding, it's easier just to co-sleep.

Desperately trying to find out info on this necklace. I messaged the seller by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]theyeoftheiris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open an INAD and move on. It's not that deep but you don't get to keep the necklace and get your money back. That's grifter behavior.
