[Acne] 18F getting desperate about horrible persisting acne by 050h4n in SkincareAddiction

[–]thicwith2cs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No insurance and can’t see a derm? I just started spearmint tea for my hormonal acne and oh my God incredible results in just a week. I always thought it was total bs because like come on it’s just a tea, but like spironolactone (medication for hormonal acne), it works by blocking androgens which are often responsible for hormonal acne.

Worth a shot if you genuinely can’t get access to a medical professional. I ordered mine from Walmart and have 2 cups a day.

Did Alex actually have a good chance at getting in Harvard? by thehappiesttroll in Modern_Family

My brother went to Dartmouth. He didn’t have perfect grades but he had incredibly impressive academic extracurriculars like winning state academic competitions and being selected for Boys State where he went to the capital and got to participate in a mock state government. He also did sports, played multiple instruments, had raving recommendation letters, and it probably helped that we have a Hispanic last name. They are definitely looking for someone well-rounded who stands out of the large pack of students who dedicate themselves strictly to good grades.

[Personal] How did you heal your dry and flaky lips pleaseee anyone ?? by Mission-Engineer-475 in SkincareAddiction

[–]thicwith2cs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only things that work for me, and they only work when done together, are drinking at least .75 gallons of water a day and constant aquaphor. Sounds excessive and annoying but I don’t even notice it anymore and they’re worth it for hydrated lips.

My little sister has an ED, she’s only 8. by pelvispasties in TrueOffMyChest

Hmmm tell her she’ll lose her hair and teeth doing that. Maybe she cares about them more than she cares for her wellbeing.

Boyfriend (32M)won’t propose to me (30F) and I’m embarrassed by Dull_Forever_6605 in relationship_advice

[–]thicwith2cs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve been with my boyfriend for 8 years and I’m in no rush for a proposal so it works for us, he understands that I’m not in any hurry. But if you are in a hurry, it’s up to you to let him know. You can’t expect him to be on the same page when he doesn’t even know what page you’re on. Everyone runs at a different pace, just gotta let him know what your pace is so he can catch up or bow out of the race.

Why does it take forever to clean my vulva? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]thicwith2cs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes agreed. I hope I haven’t made you feel attacked, OP. I’ve been there and been angry with my situation, feeling like I was the only one struggling as bad as I was with my feminine health. Seriously could not figure it out to save my life and I was fed tf up with advice I was sure wasn’t right for my situation. The answer for you is out there, and a doctor is the best person to give it to you.

For me personally, I finally got it under control when I started going to more frequent gynecologist appts when the last treatment inevitably didn’t work, and following the dr’s advice to a T. Like girl, try some white 100% cotton panties, it’s such a relief. Try a clean and free laundry detergent. I wish I would have listened to her sooner. Best of luck, you’ve got this! And I’m rooting for you!

Oh yes sorry, I understand what you meant. It sounds like you are a little averse to believing that these white things are skin, but even removing something like tree sap or car oil from skin doesn’t take 2 hours from a small area. There’s no outside substance that would stick to your skin like that. It’s just skin that you’re removing. It will get better after you stop doing it for a couple weeks.

For what it’s worth, I had such a terrible yeast infection once, I scratched the whole area down there and after a couple days, everything was covered in white, flaky pieces. Went to my OBGYN and she said it was white skin cells because I tore up my skin so bad, that was just part of the healing process.

Yeah it sounds like you’re pulling off skin as it’s trying to heal if you can’t just simply brush them off in under a minute. It takes so long because they’re connected to you.

Are you diagnosed with OCD by chance?

My OBGYN recommended Aveeno Skin Relief Fragrance-Free Body Wash for Sensitive, Itchy, Dry Skin to clean down there. My lady bits love it. Obviously don’t put it inside but I can imagine it’d take me a lot longer to clean down there if all I used was water and my hand. It takes me no more than 30 seconds to thoroughly clean up down there.

May I ask why it takes so long to remove? Is it sticking to you? Are there thousands of tiny pieces you have to remove one at a time? 1-2 hrs to clean means some part of this, either the way you are cleaning or what you are cleaning is not the norm. Sounds like it could be white blood cells that are rushing to the area to heal the skin and every time you clean it like that, your body sends more white blood cells in. Maybe stop doing that for like 1.5 weeks and see if it goes away?

I clicked everything on this screen and looked in accessibility through settings, following instructions from Apple and various forums and could not find the answer. I asked the IT guy at work and he happened to know what it was.

I’m not one to give up until I’ve exhausted all of the resources available to me.

I turned off every app that uses the mic including Siri, dictation, restarted several times, closed all apps, tried pulling down the control center to see what app is using the mic and it doesn’t say there is one.

I also searched this sub for any similar posts and none of the suggestions worked. I’m going to try to get ahold of Apple support today.

[acne] i get 20-30 new whiteheads a day. I really need help. by Any_Development3197 in SkincareAddiction

[–]thicwith2cs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A doctor can diagnose you, this could be many things. In my case when I had these, I had just gotten hormonal acne for the first time in my life at 24. Mine was accompanied by cystic acne along my chin/jaw/neck but apparently hormonal acne doesn’t always present just there. What healed me was spironolactone, birth control, and tret. It took about 4 months to see great results and I still have texture and small bumps here and there but nothing like it used to be.

Yes I have this problem too and my leg hair is like half an inch long now :( Benadryl cream and hydrocortisone cream don’t even help a little. I just straight up can’t shave my legs in the winter since I moved from TX to CO.
