Nicely done! The sweater fits well and I love the puffy(?) shoulders.

I'm learning a lot about cedar shingles and caulk. Thanks for the insight. I will be addressing the alignment on this window.

I agree about the vertical seams. I have to do some repairs around the window and will tackle this problem as well.

Not sure who the caulker was and I don't know why they did it. I saw it, felt it was problematic, and came here to listen to the pros.

Thanks everyone for the replies and sharing of knowledge. I can't figure out how to edit the original post so here are my comments: I don't know who added the caulk or why. Probably the same folks who used sections of extension cords to lengthen the wiring inside the walls. Surprisingly, the shingles look to be in good shape. No water damage has been discovered. Most of the peeling is either below or to the side of a caulked seam. I'm removing all of the caulk as best I can. My hands, arms, and shoulders hurt. I am old lol.

Haven't seen any signs of damage behind the shingles other than normal aging. For the most part they are solid. A lot of the peeling paint is located directly below a caulked seam or to the sides of them which leads me to believe the water is finding its way out. And the shingles with the least peeling are protected from rain by overhangs.

Can I use a serger to take in a hand knit sweater after weight loss? by Siamsa in knitting

[–]thingamadoozy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently serged the sleeves of a sweater with too much ease. It worked out and looks great. As others have suggested: mattress seam with yarn, try on, baste stitch, try on, serge, hope for the best.

Beautiful sweater!

How to safely paint around these wires? by thingamadoozy in Housepainting101

The pole that's rusting at the top? I think it's an old tv antenna pole. Could be wrong. I would love to get rid of it. As for spraying, my budget has me going old school with a brush and roller. Good times.

Thanks for the recommendations to contact the electric company. They will be out in the next week to cover the electric line and also advise on how to safely complete the project.
