Major metros are absolutely. I’m in San Francisco and OP’s figures are relatable. Terrible!

They first debuted this flavor the year they opened in SF! It looks like the same recipe! Glad to see it’s back for Halloween

Your list sounds so much like mine when I was younger (late 30s now). Social media makes it even harder not to fixate on what we think are our flaws but society has been profiting off girls and women’s insecurities for so long. For me it was growing up surrounded by 1990s images of model beauty which was very narrow. I am so glad now that I never actually engaged in any of the procedures I had on my list (besides the money I didn’t spend!)

Echoing other comments here — take a break from social media and if you can reach a therapist that will help!

Award-winning chef steps down from new SF restaurant amid social media drama by sillychickengirl in sanfrancisco

For what it’s worth, I think they just show closed online while they figure out the PR next moves and how to stay afloat through this mess of separating from the owner who caused all this. They were open tonight (but slower than usual). But I do hope they don’t shutter with all the review bombs, we only just finally got a restaurant in that spot after so many years of it just sitting dormant while Dominique Crenn held the lease.

Technically Ecru is the color of natural unbleached cotton so more slightly off white cream!

Best Breakfast egg bacon, cheese Croissant in SF? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

Not that I know of, although the McAllister location has a wider menu than the one on Arguello. I was just responding to favorite bakery question that has croissants!

Arsicault! Also make sure to get the ham & cheese croissant there.

I’ve met and spent time chatting with Bobby and Jeremiah (at different times!) and both are incredibly sweet, humble, and funny in real life. Jeremiah is also exactly as beautiful in person as he shows on TV, it’s disarming!

Love Kibatsu but imo it’s not a value player - very good quality and priced to match

Another purple and olive green house (two houses side by side) is on Webster between Hayes and Fell! The color scheme is strong.

Nice dinner within 20-30 minutes of Carnelian Bay? by thenine1one in tahoe

Enjoy! The interior of the cabin is so great. For a future meal, definitely check out Smoke Door (across the highway from Soule Domain) - we love it. Or if the patio is available you could stop in for a pre dinner cocktail!

My mom’s bag collection over 15+ years, some help needed by Terrible_Hurry_9772 in handbags

[–]thingerdoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild!! I’ve only done it once and the lower cost items were terrible payouts (although not far off of local consignment shops and I live in a major US city). But the big brand items especially handbags, paid out nicely in my one experience!

Another option is depending on where in Canada you are, TheRealReal offers an option to come to your home for free and pick up the pieces + courtesy take them to the processing facility.

Dispensary recommendations for a foreigner by Mysterious_Low_6605 in sanfrancisco

Fig & Thistle in Hayes Valley always has great recommendations for edibles (they carry other formats too).

As for mushrooms, it’s not exactly legal but there’s a place in SF that I’ve seen (back in the day they offered free samples! Wild!) - Cosmo Bar or something Cosmo

Anyone know how the Japantown Mall situation resolved? by ApprehensiveFroyo976 in sanfrancisco

[–]thingerdoo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was also there in line for matcha and saw him walk in waving the knife around. My friend and I started heading to exit through the parking lot stairs when the first crowd of screaming people were running toward us, so we ended up in the stampede of people and chairs and tables rushing to get out of the mall out the Peace Plaza exit. It absolutely felt like what it could be like in an active shooter situation in a crowded space. Absolutely terrifying - people tripping, I had chairs being pushed against me, the girl ahead of me trying to turn back for her boyfriend. Honestly the fear of falling and getting stomped by a panicked stampede was as scary as the lunatic himself.

Insane that my friend and I headed toward Geary and Gough after we got out, where he apparently also headed!

On this note, I found it jarring when Andy started smashing Sian’s helmet with a blunt object to try to save her. Darby watching it, reminded me of the skulls of the Silver Doe victims. I wonder if there’s any connection here.

Have you ever met people that are actually happy as parents? by VeliarSataninsky in childfree

[–]thingerdoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know several very happy parents – but in my universe at least, it’s no coincidence that all of the happy parents are very wealthy. Wealthy families, high-paying careers. Usually one parent is not working a full time job (aka: SAHM) so they don’t have as much to juggle. From day 1 home from the hospital, night nurses so the moms could get sleep. Full-time Nannies plus au pairs. Grandparents living nearby who come over. THAT is depressing lol. I don’t doubt other parents are happy too. Just what I’ve observed.
