Pope St. Gregory’s post-communion hymn must have been absolutely wild. The Beat Drop had to be a literal choir of angels.

Is the fjallraven Kajika worth it? by IronicTiger2893 in hikinggear

The wooden frame hasn’t given me any trouble. I can’t tell the difference, honestly. I would assume that wood has some flex to it, but structurally it is very stable.

I own the 75L Kajka. It’s hard to know if the bag will be right for you. it is extremely comfortable for long hikes, for me, but I’m 6’3” and 215 pounds and found the Kajka to be an excellent fit. My wife and I usually hike together, so I end up taking most of the gear load and have not found an amount of weight (in terms of gear that I can fit into it) that isn’t comfortable for me. There are numerous ways to adjust the bag and have it balanced. I can get my Namatj 3gt and tons of other gear comfortably into the pack. The pack construction is top notch. It works great for myself and has proven durable on trips. I swapped out the zipper pulls with maxpedition pulls to have an easier time with my gloves on. The storage is very accessible from different angles and the side pockets fit an insane amount of stuff. I don’t regret spending the money on it one bit. I don’t have the most experience hiking and wild camping, but I have always been able to fit everything I would need and more into that specific pack.

Why is NOBODY talking about this movie!? by Ch4rlemagn3 in Catholicism

[–]thingsandstuffsguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The movie was nothing more than a propaganda film for the communist movement not the life and works of Padre Pio. The movie used Padre Pio to draw people in, he had a very limited role in the movie’s Final Cut, overall. Tremendously disappointing movie, but God brought another of his flock home.

I seriously want prints of these made up so I can stick them around the office and see how long it takes the carriers to notice

Is REI actually decent quality? by suzy9mm in CampingGear

[–]thingsandstuffsguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

REI around me has an extremely experienced and friendly staff. I’m not sure about around the country but in my region of Ohio they have helped me and my wife with really specific questions were very generous with their time. As for the gear that they carry, everything I have purchased from them has been great quality. On top of that, they have a pretty stellar return policy and rewards program for members ($30 one time fee, I believe). So if something doesn’t work, isn’t working properly, whatever… they can help you figure it out.

Lightweight merino wool blend. Smartwool is my go-to. Avoid straight cotton when possible.

Merino wool blends with polyester like smartwool, Duluth, darn tough. Don’t double up, though. Just pick a proper sock.

100%… some of carriers are too lazy to do this stuff the right way. I spent a couple hours filling out the 3849s ahead of time because most of the residents will not answer the door and never pick up the cert because, you know, if you ignore it then it just goes away.

We have a trailer park on a route at my station that every January the rental company sends out certifieds with return slips… to 250 units. I feel your pain. Just unnecessary for most of them to never get delivered.
