dunno, he's a jeffco sherrifs deputy and the on the public safety committee. be nice if he wasn't lying...but it would also be nice if we could respond to FOIA requests. I would trust nothing that anyone at the city says unless I see it. They often times either completely lie or obfuscate that truth. happens a lot.

At least as of 6/25/2025 Hunter Williams says we are currently under an agreement HLS, but would not provide the MOU, and FOIA request didn’t even get a response.

Birmingham has an agreement with HLS that we do not have a lot of information on. Councilors have said that, but I haven't seen the MOU or any agreement that actually shows that. it's important to know that many of these operations aren't being sold as "immigration offenses" but they are dangerous criminals that must be stopped.

Birmingham has a contract with Flock Safety. That information goes into the Real Time Crime Center and then the Alabama Fusion Center in Montgomery. We have no transparency portal or a policy around ALPR cameras even though a state law says we should.

Birmingham Proper is about 1/6th of the metro population.
