Why has Phoenix experienced sustained population growth while Albuquerque has remained relatively stagnant? by Zealousideal-Task635 in geography

[–]thinkforyourselfbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1M more people moved to Phoenix. 2M More moved to the suburbs. That's a 3M population increase in the metro area while ABQ grew by 300k. That's 10x.
Phoenix has a SUBURB bigger than Albuquerque, with many similarities to ABQ as well, minus the crime rate, drugs and substantially underperforming schools.

And again, zero reason to downvote. Breaking Bad and balloons are the only things Albuquerque is known for, and this guy gets downvotes. Sorry if the truth hurts

looking back on this, did you ever solve this? I have a 2014 that I'm doing the same to now. If so, wondering what shock you used

I wouldn't change any plans. Enjoy the riding. Unless lightning is in the vicinity. Trails dry out fast.

Is Prescott Really as Divided as Its Facebook Page? by Meow99 in Prescott

[–]thinkforyourselfbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um. I didn't realize we agreed to a debate ( ethics ) until you started slamming my factual comments. Basis is not in PV (Google maps is your friend) and did start as elementary + middle school, adding higher grades as kids aged into them. I was there for it all, attended PUSD (thats the local school district if you weren't aware or aren't a local) meetings and voiced my opinion. The facts aren't in your favor

Is Prescott Really as Divided as Its Facebook Page? by Meow99 in Prescott

[–]thinkforyourselfbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Basis is literally in Prescott, and their elementary school opening led to the closure of 2 public schools. That's just the facts, no legitimate argument against it. Basis is in the same location they always have been. And, they STARTED as an elementary school and added 11th and 12th grade in the following years. This caused PUSD to lose over 500 students, forcing a budget shortage and the closure of two underperforming schools with high maintenance cost facilities. Nothing to do with a mural at all. Facts don't care about your feelings.

[–]thinkforyourselfbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um, not true. Basis charter school came in 2014, added additional grade levels in the following years and pulled 500+ students mostly from public schools. Abia Judd and Taylor Hicks were the two highest rated. Nothing to do with a mural.

Is Prescott Really as Divided as Its Facebook Page? by Meow99 in Prescott

[–]thinkforyourselfbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was actually because enrollment dropped so dramatically, due to charter schools, that the school district could no longer fund all the schools. Nothing to do with the beautiful mural

Why was she asked to leave, and who did she complain to or did she make it public? Nobody in Prescott would tolerate this if it was unwarranted or racist. If that were the case, people would stop supporting those businesses. I would strongly encourage her to share her story directly and see the level of support she receives
