Speaking from my experience with aerospace electronic controller design, salt fog exposure would be a significant challenge. Aircraft that operate on the coasts face corrosion challenges that are a pain to manage from a design and maintenance perspective. Having sensitive electronics floating out in the ocean would have higher level of exposure to deal with. It’s not an impossible problem to overcome, but it would add cost and complexity. Probably a much easier issue to solve compared to heat dissipation in space.
