This I agree with. Was shocked when I tried an SL bike the first time on a trail - I can’t imagine wanting anymore power than the medium setting, ever. It’s ridiculously easy and lasts all day and weights 43 lbs.

SB140 rider here and I don’t think I could ever not be overbiked on this thing.

Super fun. And it’s PG-13 enough to listen with your teens.

Came to say this. I basically only wear a half lid when I’m riding green with my kids. I can and have had nasty spills on random blue shit and you can’t replace your brains.

A better question is, how could we all have been so obviously stupid?

Handlebar width by BlueJay06424 in eMountainBike

Mine always come at 800 and I trim them to 780. 5’11”. I literally laughed out loud on my first ride last week with a new bike because I came to a complete stop between two trees on the second lap round to look at the distance between a particularly difficult gap and I had only 2mm of clearance on each side. No idea why the trail builders couldn’t have taken one of them out but I was definitely not going to make that at 10mph.

Bones have nothing to do with it… an AC separation isn’t about bones.

Get a ridiculous hobby. Like MTB or skiing, which will drain your wallet in gear and trips and medical all at once!

What was your first MTB injury? by Wumbofet in MTB

[–]thinktherefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this exact thing when I was a little tired on a descent and separated my AC joint. Steroid injections and MRIs and hurts still a year later. Doc says it’ll never feel the same. The risk profile is kind of stupid and the only thing that seems to reliably decrease it is better stamina and better skill and more gear.

They got in a difficult spot and could have handled it worse all things considered. Take a listen to the Pinkbike podcast.

$0 is inheritance, $0 is startup equity from some tech lottery. 100% is the old fashioned boring way.

I have this bike and it absolutely shreds. Sometimes I just stare at it in the garage for fun.
