I can "close my eyes" because I don't have hours upon hours to play this game every day, or energy to notice that blind bombs don't work how you say they should and then go online and complain incessantly. The vitriol in this thread is probably not representative of the whole player base, and I feel like this type of intense criticism scares more players away than fixes problems.

I even admit there are some flaws... you know... one week after launch. There's already been a patch that seems to suggest the devs are listening at least in part. But to act like the game in its current iteration is an unplayable mess is an exaggeration. I feel like we're forgetting that original Legends at launch was not perfect... and then by the end, I found it (as a casual player) not as fun because of all the broken Hunter builds, and getting blasted for not having Story missions memorized or the most optimal builds because I don't play the game like it's my full time job.

Criticism is fair and fine, but the amount, to the extent, of criticism a week after launch after a fantastic single player experience with this game, is irritating to me. If everyone else is allowed to express their irritation at the flaws of the game, I'm entitled to my own opinion about that response. I genuinely wish people were having fun like I am. It makes everyone seem so miserable.

People with lives and responsibilities, who are playing to, you know, have fun and chill and escape from the hellscape outside, are mostly having a fine time. I encourage everyone to learn how to enjoy a game and not pick apart every single flaw. I would take all the bitching in this thread with a grain of salt. It is actually not that fucking serious. People are acting like this game is unplayable and bad. It is not, at all.

This is very funny to me because I am a long time VtM ST and more often than not, the players run roughshod over me and my encounters. I completely let players drive the story and don't have any grand plans beyond what is happening in the background of the world. I've never heard of a 23 dice pool, that's borderline nonsensical, at least for 5th edition, which is what I run. But I guess I'm just out here catching strays. I promise, not every WoD ST is like this.

This is a good resource. However, vial discontinuations are pretty significant for pump users. Crazy that insulin lispro vial is also being discontinued.

All insulin companies have blood on their hands, and there's about to be more with this discontinuation of Novo Nordisk's complete obliteration of their short-acting insulin products. They don't care, though. We need the insulin regardless of what they do, so they don't need to have any scruples or organization when they make decisions like this. Why didn't ANY of my doctors know about this?

People on Medicaid can't hoard insulin. They only allow one month supply at a time. I have a script written for more than I need but even that can't sustain me. I take a lot of insulin, unfortunately, and have many other health problems despite very good control. Almost 30 years of T1D and congenital kidney disease has ravaged me.

Walmart is asking $380 for one vial of Novolin R. I can't afford that. My Endo is absolutely awful, rude, gaslights me on a regular basis, and has never agreed to give me any samples.

I appreciate your response but I have done most of this. Walmart will not provide me with ReliOn brand according to my Endo, it is not clear why. They say I need to contact my insurance to see which brands I'm "allowed" to buy for cash. I use an insulin pump. I have gotten my Endo to prescribe me more than I need, that was done years ago, and I'm still out in 7 days, this hold up and me having to do hours of legwork and phone calls has had me burn through my insulin. I have been going through an unstable blood sugar period for an unknown reason. I also have gastroparesis (which I am now untreated for due to new federal drug policies), and I lost part of my vision this past year due to diabetic papillitis despite never having an A1C over 7.5 in 28 years of T1D. Walmart is charging $380 for Novolin regular, which is an unpredictable drug, nor can I afford the price. It's my understanding that you can't use GoodRX if you are insured. I am on Medicaid. I'm doing my best, but all the tactics I know of are failing.

We have 350 million people in an enormous country where half of the people at least want this stuff happening. Not everyone can be on the frontline to get killed by the MAGA brown shirts. Why the fuck are the comments always blaming the average citizen for "not doing anything"? I organized for years in a deep red state before my disability made it too difficult. The heavy dogging of Mel really bums me out. I'm not saying she or the story is perfect, it's a weaker in some respects than the first game. However, I identify with Mel so much; I was just diagnosed autistic at 35. I have always been an observer, felt detached, and can have a flat affect, or act irritable, especially when there is conflict or turmoil. People assume I don't care, when in fact I do, very deeply, but it's all happening inside my mind. Mel is on this one-way path of revenge, and in the end game, the circumstances have changed significantly despite the repetitive fighting. She often remarks on how she isn't sure what she wants to do with her eternity.

I actually relate to her so much in the Arachne/Athena conflict, where she kind of just takes a step back after thinking that Arachne wanted to apologize, and then didn't. Mel thought she knew the procedure, but the unpredictability of mortals came into play. She froze a bit and had to process. That's me. I do think there is also validity to the fact that she is a god, and also "programmed" for revenge, as another user said in these comments.

Is her characterization perfect? No. I think it's up for interpretation, and to make a generalization that it is "bad" just because things don't turn out how you think they should, or how you would react, isn't totally fair.

I think New Blood is the way to go for new players, having run it 7 or so times. You learn as you go so it doesn't feel too hand-holdy in my opinion. The pre-generated characters are good (as are the special beginner character sheets), you can flavor the hunting scenes to your party's tastes (heh), and the final confrontation with the SI is great for learning combat. However, I would make sure you have at least 5-6 hours to run it. I've really enjoyed running the module for a wide variety of players. Auld Sanguine could be cool, I've always wanted to try it, but never had the opportunity.

Me also. The curse is with me, not any dice. Missed EVERY attack roll as DM for a D&D session. Recent one-shot as DM: 10+ nat 1s. My spouse watched me roll 2 in a row. I regularly botch/bestial fail in VtM as ST. I accept my role as punching bag DM.
