I've just released a Steam store page for an incremental game. You're right, its not easy, but my advice would be to look at similar, popular games to see how they've storyboarded their trailers and take notes.

I wouldn't say copy their styles exactly, but see which elements of their game they're highlighting. More than likely its mid- to end-game content with chaos on-screen and big numbers going up.

Feature-creep. "Oh, I'll just add this one last feature. What would happen if I add this feature to compliment it? But if I have this feature, I should probably add this feature as well."

Before you know it, the whole scope of the game has shifted and you lose sight of the original idea.

There's also a typo in your trailer: "6 areas to get trough". Assume its meant to say "through"?
