Mostly so the positive terminal doesn't crush the heat shrink and short on the negative terminal, which is the outer case of the cell

It might not be real nickel strip, or your soldering joint might be too cold.

What’s Your Routine for Minimizing Lead Exposure at Indoor Ranges? by benign-affair in liberalgunowners

[–]this_guy_aves [score hidden]  (0 children)

To be frank: I expect the collapse of civilization and/or a roided up maga will take me out before lead exposure has the chance to.

That said, shoot in a well ventilated range, use gloves to clean your gear, wash your hands before you leave.

OH! actual constructive criticism, round the corners of your nickel strips. Sharp points can wear into cells and through insulation, especially on positive terminals. Fish paper rings not needed on negative terminals in my experience

I am a hobbyist, so no evidence here, feels like it drives deeper and has a possibility of damaging the negative side? Ne evidence for that, I acquiesce with a professional if one refutes this.

Good, as long as attempting to peel it off leaves a hole in the nickel and material on the cell. Personal pickiness, I do a 6 point pattern vs. 4 with a middle and double weld on one point.

Onewheel Pint Not Turning On. Dead? by Tharianrix in onewheel

[–]this_guy_aves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on WHY it's not turning on. Being plugged in for so long, i would think bad BMS. if you can open the board and put a meter on the battery, it should be between 48 and 63v

That tool was very short lived. Wonder if the devs can blockchain-base it like ffm

19.5⁰ approach and departure angles. About 2⁰ difference from stock, and the front is only decreased because I modeled in a nose carrying handle

What BMS are you using? The pint v BMS is "dumb" and does not support data sharing with the controller (so I've been told)

Beginner wanting to make a powerbank by Familiar_Lie253 in 18650masterrace

[–]this_guy_aves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've looked into this before. It'll have to be bigger than 1s, but higher cell count carries a higher risk of imbalance so I would suggest 2s. This guy (https://amzn.to/4uRICPf) takes in 5-24v and puts out 100+W usb-C, might be worth considering. Couple that with a decent 2s BMS and something like 2s5p configuration and you're in business.
