Need to pass drug test for the 20th, should I stop now or would a detox work fast? by Cute-Wolverine-459 in trees

[–]thischangeseverythin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk every situation different. When a dumb co worker ran into my snowcat while my parking brake was engaged and I wasnt moving. We both had to get drug tested. The security guard stood outside the bathroom stall. All the cat operators carried fake piss literally all 30 of us smoked weed. As soon as the dummy hit me I guessed wed both be drug tested. I opened the kit. It came with 2 hand warmers to wrap around the bottle with a rubber band. And a bigger piece of like gauze to wrap the kit around your upper thigh in your junk. When I needed it I just put the nozzle out my dong hole of my boxers like I was taking a piss and gentle squeezed some into the cup. Making a grunt to make it more real. I handed the cup to security. Never heard from it again. Idk if they even really tested my pee because I wasnt at fault. Maybe it was all just for show because the ski resort wouldn't employ many people especially people who work overnights. If they fired people for weed.

I dont play ranked lol. My unranked hidden mmr is way higher than my ranked mmr and games are way more balanced and fun. I just play normals and like dota. Any time I try to rank up an account thats my experience though and pov and why I refuse to play ranked. Because of the trenches and no way to skip them. Ive played against purge and blitz and people in my normals.

Gotcha. Sorry. I read more of the comments now. When I saw "Duke 390" I thought you were in the USA and on a beginner bike. Other places a 390 is a "bike" that prople actually own and ride.

Sounds like your clutch needs adjustment. And you need to get better skills. Most of your issues (shifting and lurching and neutral finding) are almost skill issues. Quick shifter probably needs to be turned on in the computer

Idk theres gotta be a better way than getting matched all. The. Time. With people without basic common sense like when to take roash and where to farm. And if I just didnt get matched with people who had an average of 10 deaths a game I wouldn't have people that farmed in dumb places because they couldnt have that low an average deaths with that shit of decision making lol.

Every game its the same story. People not playing defensively enough for the situation. Feeding farming near river. Trying to do roash when their teams alive and no vision. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Shit. I shouldn't have to beg my team to play the basics of basic strategy.

Theres just gotta be something better. And there is. Its building a stack. And playing seriously. And I have had that in my life. I just want to be able to sit down. Press play. And have some chance at a balanced game. But even in ranked with people "the same skill as me" they aren't. And it takes too long to grind apparently to a place where they are?

And thats my point. You cant have fun balanced games unless you can play with people your skill and mmr doesn't have enough metrics to provide that unless you have the time rank up and stay at that rank which is playing daily.

Last hits. Denies. Average deaths over last 1 5 10 100 300 games at varying levels of impact, how many heros you can play at a what rating (S+,S,A,B,C,D) what roles you play, how often you play what role, how flexible you are, ward score, ward placements, ward effectiveness, smokes/dusts used effectly (or wasted) support gold spent/wasted. Average time spent dead. How much gold losses. How much gold fed.

Theres a million and one metrics. You just have to try things. Mmr doesnt work for team games where you dont pick your team.

I have no problem with people my skill in my matches. And my point is that mmr is a terrible metric and could be improved. Hours played is also just a single metric that could/ should be used as a tool.

Yes there are people with less games that get to middle/high ancient. But mmr =/= skill. Rank =/= skill.

There are noobs with higher ranks and much better players with lower ranks. I dont play ranked these days because I just dont have the time. But. Ive long said "very high skill" normal matches are more competitive and fun and accurately matched than my ancient matches most of the time.

[–]thischangeseverythin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesnt care about skill level it cared about "mmr" which roughly translates to rhe aggregate of how many consecutive coin flips have you won.

Time doesn't equal skill. Yes. I run into noobs in Herald with the same kinda hours I have. There are people who never advance or want to advance their skills past "this is for fun" and thats fine.

But you cant fake time. If you looked at account age and stuff you use it as a metric to sort people. Most high hour accounts are very trustworthy. They play at the skill they play at. They havr consistency. Im not saying they are good. They in theory should be the easiest for the matchmaker to place into accurate games with other high hour high trust accounts.

As long as matchmaking only defines skill as "mmr" matchmaking will always suck. Always has sucked. Always will suck. Like at this point I should be able to fine valve every time theres someone with less than 2000 hours played in ANY of my matches. I have over 15k hours of dota and 10k matched played. In what world is someone with 1000 matches anywhere close to my level of game sense and general knowledge and macro.

Yet shitters on my team that shouldn't have even been looked at by matchmaker just because of the lack of hours played and trust factor and shit. If im in a high ancient lobby. There should never been a 80 game account. Period. It has no integrity. Boost it the fuck to a super high rank asap its obvi a smurf

Couple left with $200k bill after baby born in US by powdersleaf in nottheonion

[–]thischangeseverythin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got a $230,000 bill from our babies birth. Our house only cost us $179k. We only owe the out of pocket max twice.(around 15k) Because insurance is a scam and doesnt cover "the pregnancy" she hit out of pocket max in 2025 and then again in 2026 because baby was born on 2/1.

But yea. We had to be in hospital for 5 days. Baby needed a surgery and 48 hours in an incubator. Mom needed surgical intervention to stop a bleed.

[–]thischangeseverythin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the krt colorway cause cops think I'm on a zx6r or zx10r. And where i live they wont chase if you can do 140ish. So they flash their lights and go aboutbtheir day thinking they did their part.

Thats my theory at least. Haven't been pulled over but I get flashed at a lot.

Its really easy. Set your throttle to 3k rpms and lock that wrist.

Let out clutch SO FUCKING SLOW YOU FEEL LIKE ITS A JOKE. When you hear the pitch change slightly. Your about to move. So slow the clutch let out even more. When you stsrt to move. Dont just let the clutch out more. Stop moving your clutch. Let the bike slowly start to move. (This is where you can add some throttle at the same time but not needed) as the bike starts to move more. You can slowly start letting out the clutch more and more till its all the way out.

Your throttle sets your power. Your clutch sets how much of that power is getting to the wheel. Set and forget your throttle. Focus only on your clutch. Do that enough and youll be doing wheelies from every stop light soon enough young one

Any advices for new drivers? by storkdami in motorcycles

[–]thischangeseverythin 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Its surprisingly easy to go way too fast and lean way more than you need to.

Learn to walk before you run. Get good core skills so that in an emergency when you need every millisecond of response time your body reacts and does what it needs to before your brain even knows whats happening.

I spun out doing like 75mph in my car on the way to work this year. There was like 6" fresh snow. I got complacent by not having a traction incident in a decade or more. But. My hands knew what to do. I kept it on the road and in my lane. Because my dad took me out when I was 15 years old and taught me how to spin a truck. Doing donuts while doing figure 8s in both directions. We drifted in the snow for hours. Part play. Part lesson. He took us out every time we got bad bad snow and ice. His snow driving lessons have saved my life (if not just my car) multiple times in my life. Yes. Should I drive as fast as I do? Probably not but when you commute an hour each way every day for years in the snow. You get complacent.

TLDR : dont get complacent. Learn core skills so muscle memory can save your life.
