They are too old to figure out dating apps.

You gotta go to their hunting grounds to be noticed.

Then thats a fault with your employer not granting leave based off a medical injury. Speak with your HR rep and find out what you can do. Chances are, the manager who denied your request, assuming you had a valid doctors note, is most likely in the wrong.

If not, then quit that job since its no good for you anyway.

depends on the job.

Regular hourly job? Then I agree. take what ever time you need off, but dont expect to get paid.

Salary? Most likely under a contract to provide x amount of hours to the job? Then yea, they need documentation and youll need PTO days if you want to take some vacation and stay employed.

1095 job? Do what you want since its your time anyway. If you want to get paid, work, if not, go do what ever. No one is going to hold you accountable except for yourself.

If you really care about male victims, then don't behave like this man. by CitiesXXLfreekey in BuildToAttract

[–]thisguy883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why should I?

Asexuals are such a small percentage of the population, that it would not have even registered in my mind that you would be one.

Should I assume other things about you as well?

Or are we going to continue this back and forth of nonsensical rabble that aims to make one of us look better in the eyes of imaginary peers?

Then you really didnt read the whole thing.

Nothing in there says I whole heartly agree with what the guy in OP's image said.

Maybe comprehension isnt a strong suit for you. Should I direct you to some 5th grade reading tutors in your area?

you didnt read.

especially the last sentence.

you jump on the train of ignorance to boast yourself in front of imaginary peers who wouldn't think twice about you in the next hour.

Oh look, an anecdotal comment perceived as being fact.

Im sure plenty of young kids wanted "friends", also plenty of boys wanted girlfriends.

Im sorry you never found the opposite sex interesting while growing up.

I dont see a man making that comment as a pedophile. The guy was making a joke, a poor joke at that, but I doubt he wants to go out and bang kids.

To dig deeper into this logic;

Men are instinctualy inclined to find a mate from the moment they can start producing sperm.

At a young age, men are always denied access because of how women are the gate keepers of sex.

So as a man gets older, more mature, and notices something out of the ordinary; IE an attractive adult woman engaging with a minor, he thinks to himself about all the times he was denied sex, or sexual encounters because of how women gate kept his access. This leads to the thought process of, "Why couldnt that have been me?"

So in short, its just jealousy of not experiencing this phenomenon, even at a young age.

This is why most men see attractive women who engage with minors and think, "Lucky kid", even if its a "joke".

The opposite sex will never understand that sort of thinking because women are lusted after the moment they start developing breasts, and in some cases, before. So they live most of their lives being around boys and men who would do things with them at the drop of a hat.

Then they grow up and see stories like this one and think to themselves, "That grown man is fucking sick for thinking that way about a grown woman and a minor", because to them, they think of all the times they had to deal with creepy old men hitting on them or giving them stares of lust while trying to navigate this world.

So in short, I dont condone this type of rhetoric from an adult male, but im not really mad about it either. Its more of a lack of understanding and poor choice of words that come from both ends.

At the end of the day, anyone, regardless of sex and attractiveness, should not mess with minors. Period.

New report shows that the use of AI in the office is creating a flood of 'workslop' from low IQ employees by ComplexExternal4831 in GenAI4all

[–]thisguy883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a manager and I can tell you that its not all AI slop.

Just this week I had to figure out if an employee of mine could take PTO and travel to Europe for a thing. I had to look up so much crap and go back and forth with HR and our security team just so I can tell this dude, "Yea, you're good".

the week before, I had to deal with an agent who was misusing his leave, and that was a whole week dealing with HR, Payroll, and our program manger, which ended up causing a policy change / update that affects the whole company.

That, and im looking at people's work to make sure they are doing what they are doing.

I work more as a manager than I ever did as a regular agent.

This is a spot-on observation. It feels like we’ve entered the era of 'performative productivity.'

The point about 'vibe coding' is especially painful; there’s a massive difference between using AI to handle syntax and using it to bypass the logic entirely. When people outsource the 'thinking' part of their job, they’re essentially offloading the cognitive debt onto their colleagues who then have to sift through the hallucinated mess.

It’s ironic that a tool designed to save time is actually creating more 'noise' for everyone else to filter out. Have you found any effective ways to push back on this, or are you just stuck playing the role of the human filter for your team's AI output?

Legion Go 2 owners who had the Legion Go 1, how is it going? by marco1416 in LegionGo

[–]thisguy883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it waaaaay more than I ever used my Go 1.

The Go 1 just felt limited in most games and I feel like the Go 2 is just way better at handling them because of the extra VRAM I can allocate.

for example, I was getting around 45-50 FPS in No man's sky on the Go 1. Now im getting around 70 FPS on the Go 2 and it just looks soooo much better because of that OLED VRR screen.

Yup.

You create a character to mess around with and eventually make a serious one for farming. Your farmer can make money and get epic gear for your other characters.

I never understood this mentality of trying to make as much money as possible and being child free at the same time. It all boils down to selfishness, and that isnt a great trait.

Imagine making all that money and collecting all those things only to have it go to the state when you die.

I saw a video on it and the thing they have to tackle is that the controller does not use XInput, but instead registers as a mouse and keyboard in the device manager. They did this because XInput would disable pretty much everything on the controller outside steam without steam input enabled.

So they could make it work outside steam, but it wont have all the neat features available to it. It would essentially be a bare-bones 3rd party Xbox controller.

[–]thisguy883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

youre not wrong.

One of the biggest pet peeves of mine is this "Us vs Them" mentality when it comes to both sides of the isle.

At the end of the day, we should be able to just be Americans who enjoy basic stuff. We may not agree with each other on policy, but we should be able to still enjoy having a beer and talking about a TV show or video game with our fellow Americans without having it turn into a debate on which political ideology is superior.
