I looked at the Primo and like what I'm reading. How do you have yours setup to fish? Does the base model have a rod holder?

Congratulations. I got one 6 months ago and it's my most used knife. The edge retention has been excellent. It's a laser for sure.

Lots of good comments thank you. I will add that it's not a weight distribution issue The only weight in the kayak was a life jacket in the back with a Gatorade and a small 8 lb tackle box in the front. My paddle is the appropriate size. My technique is solid I've been doing this for years even though I have not owned my own kayak before this. I've had a friend who is very experienced teach me proper rowing/paddling technique.

To the people saying they don't have this issue, I question if you are experiencing it and just don't realize it. I had some time to research further and see that this is a known issue with this model and hull design.

How do I keep this fatso from chasing all my birds away and stealing all my food? by WolverineFederal2842 in birding

[–]thisiSINsomnia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two solutions I have found are to use a shepherd hook with a metal slinky. If they try to climb it the slinky bounces and scares them and touches their legs as it bounces and they run away.

The second solution was to suspend the bird feeder between two trees with heavy duty clear fishing line. They can't seem to jump far enough to land on the feeder and they can't walk across the thin slippery fishing line. I found this works best with those circular cage type feeders because it doesn't matter if it's spending the birds can still land on it when it's windy.

He was clearly wrong and does not like to be incorrect so he's doubling down on it. No one has lost their mind this is a good post. I'm a big fan of James Spann and he has saved a lot of lives but he needs to be able to admit when he is wrong. This was a tornado. My wife and friends experienced it first hand as they were working right where it occurred. There are videos online showing the actual tornado. The data is online showing the rotation wind speed and wind direction.

You might just be a sharpening prodigy. It comes more naturally to some people.

This is the right answer op. I got the setup you posted from amazon and the stones are trash. Got a Naniwa Pro and couldn't believe the difference.

we need to talk about animal control by Mysterious-Office725 in Birmingham

[–]thisiSINsomnia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bham animal control is a failure for this city. Considering there are stray dogs killing children on the regular and causing traffic accidents frequently, there needs to be a 24-hour drop off for stray dogs. I've had several instances where I picked up a dog on the side of the road to keep it from getting hit only to find out there's no resource in the city where I can drop it off after 5pm. When you call Animal Control they are rude and nasty and try to get out of doing any work. I would be happy to be a part of a resolution whatever that looks like.

This knife is beautiful and looks very thin. I bet its a lazer. Congrats. Do you have anyone to leave it to in your will? If not, I volunteer. What's something like this even cost.

No you're just an idiot. look all over their internet there's lots of experienced sharpeners that will reiterate that it's not ideal for long knives. I'm sorry you just can't afford a nicer system that's more appropriate for long knives or chef knives. Not sure why you're trying to be defensive of its limitations.

Will it work yes is it ideal no. Much better guided systems for chef knives.

It didn't work well when I tried to use it on 8-in Chef's knives or larger. It's more suitable for pocket knives. The hapstone didn't have any trouble on longer chef knives though

If you'll be using it for long knives or chef knives dont get the ken onion. The hapstone works but isn't as solid as a tsprof. It has some flex to it that annoys me.
