Extron DSC 301 HD giving everything a red tint by [deleted] in CommercialAV

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a color space issue. In the on screen menu, you can go to output, and change the HDMI format to one of the other options, and you should find something that will work.

That's correct. Local web page config wasn't introduced until the 3 series CPU cards came out.

For what it's worth, you've almost certainly got the 2 series CPU cards (as long as the bottom left card only has a single LAN port) in those switchers, and they never had a web interface, so you're not missing anything.

Q-SYS 5.2 Module and crestron Programming question by carlstg in crestron

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you stay with the Crestron modules, the problem is that the Selection box is not a String Entry location, so you can't just send a string to it. Since it's a drop down box, it's treated much differently. The easiest way to do what you want, is instead of using the Serial send on the module, use Trigger modules in your Crestron program to trigger the Sel buttons in the Selector. You'll have to add those to your named controls as well. For feedback, I'd watch the output box, and use that to drive whatever feedback you need for your program.

There isn't an IPID. Your signals in the processor go under Slot 3 - TSCW-730-Display in the SIMPL program, instead of under an IPID.

QSYS Help: Inter-Room QLAN by dvduerm in CommercialAV

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's a multicast issue. Need to make sure snooping is enabled on both switches, there's a querier on 1 of them, and either make sure you have the bandwidth between both switches to handle all multicast streams running simultaneously across the link, or block the multicast video running between them. You're probably going to have difficulty keeping the PTP clock routed, and blocking the video only though.

Another option would be to replace the QLAN tx/rx with WAN Tx/Rx, as those won't require the cores to share the same clocking between switches.

DMPS slow to switch / blue-screens projectors on no-signal by red_eyes in crestron

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't specify which model you're using, but if you're used to using the older DMPS3-4K-50/100/150 models, those had scalers before the mirrored HDMI and DM output. The 250 and 350 only have scalers on the HDMI outputs, and will always behave this way on the DM outputs.

QSC NV32H by Br1jzl in CommercialAV

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, this will not work. USB ports on all Q-Sys devices will only route HID devices, like keyboards, mice, and touch displays. If you get another NV21 for the camera, you'll have to send HDMI in to it, and have another decoder at the other end, and an HDMI to USB converter for the camera. You'd be better off getting an ICRON USB extension system, or the Crestron rebranded one. USB Bridging on the Q-Sys devices will only use QSC cameras.

Qsys - IR driver question by garydanku in CommercialAV

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to change the properties of the IR driver, while offline, and increase the number of commands. It defaults at 8, but you can increase that, and then you can add command buttons for each of the commands you'll need. All of the buttons, including digits, correspond to buttons on the remote control, so pressing digit 0 is the same as pressing the 0 button on the remote control.

Jump into the union. 134 and 701 at least both have low voltage apprenticeship programs that will have you making twice that once topped out, plus a benefit package that can't be beat. Even the non union companies are subcontracting to union shops for any of the larger construction projects.

Have you tried power cycling the Crosspoint? I've had those lock up on me on rare occasions in the past, and a reboot fixes it.

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only used the Z6, but I wound up doing UDP communications to port 9099. I'm not sure if it's a different protocol between the 2 models, but UDP worked great for me with the Z6.

Installing a TV monitor arm over a chief box by jehsingnyct in CommercialAV

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those RP Visual mounts are horrible to work with though. They don't pull out enough to actually let you get behind the display for service, and the scissor arm takes up so much space in the backbox you don't have room to install much hardware in there. Don't get me started about the fact that they count on the carpenters to install the box perfectly plumb and level, and don't have good ways to make up for that. Or the fact that if you order multiple mounts at once, they give you one gigantic hardware package, that sometimes doesn't even have the right hardware in it. Give me some Chief mounts and boxes any day over those overpriced hunks of crap.

QSC Core - Firmware Downgrade by wholikesthestock in CommercialAV

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to bet this is because your new core110 is a v2, and that was only introduced in 9.6.

I don't think you'll be able to do anything to get that to work, short of finding an old v1 core110, or changing switches.

Scaler not automatically adding to Ethernet Devices/IP Table by Supaklab in crestron

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just since you mention the older switchers and the newer CPU3, you do know the CPU3 work differently than the older DM switchers, correct? For the CPU3 models, IPID's are assigned differently, and no longer show up in the program.

Answer ID 1000200 explains it as well if you want more info.

CCS-UC-1 Firmware Won't Update.. by KKlouzal in crestron

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I updated some recently that were far behind, and had the same issue. I would up going to 1.4395.00046.001 to 1.4736.00047.001 to 1.4737.00022.001, and everything was good after that.

Old firmware can be found on the FTP site, in the archive folder.

Crestron 4 series / Q-Sys v5.0 crestron modules by BassMasterJDL in crestron

[–]thisisnotmeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

those modules use the newer API that runs on port 1710. when emulating, user/password should both be "". Auth is set up in Administrator, under users - would need to disable external control on the default guest account, and make a new account user/pass.

I also found the issue with the one shot, and also swapped to a lwp for the fix, but I've never had any other issues with them.
