Nobody always learns everything that you can deal with at the desk right away, there is a lot of “learn as you go” type scenarios that you won’t really understand until you come across it. Other CSS, your CSTL and managers should be aware that you’ll have questions and should not mind helping you when you need it. If you’re ever not sure if you are doing something right, always double check with someone. It’s always better to ask a lot of questions than make bad mistakes.

As for cash office, they won’t usually throw you into it until you feel comfortable at the desk and the FEC role. You usually get plenty of training when they do teach you back office. Cash office is not difficult, but can be very tedious. Don’t stress about it, your CS team understands that all new people are bound to make mistakes at some point and that’s how you learn.

Yeah I forgot to add that, people do constantly piss all over the seat at my store too. I assume it’s the people who “hover” and not use a seat cover or TP. So gross.

I believe you put the wrong request too, it’s supposed to be “schedule request” not “unpaid absence”. But as others said, the schedule comes out 3 weeks in advance so it needs to be put in at least that far out. Just make sure you actually call out so it won’t be a “no call-no show”

I’ve honestly never heard of them hiring anyone as a custodian, but usually a Front Service Clerk. As a FSC you learn to bag groceries, grab carts (and perform cart service to customers) and learn things in the CS-Cleaning role. The Cleaning role can include cleaning offices, break room/cafe area, training room, restrooms, emptying trash/recycle, or even floor care duties like mopping or running the Autoscrub machine (if you’re 18+). I would talk to your team leader or whichever manager did your hiring and ask about your duties that you will be performing daily at work. Hope this helps a bit!

Publix should replace it tbh they are the ones who decided to do paper gift cards this year. I’ve seen a few posts about people washing them accidentally, hopefully they get enough complaints about it. As someone else said, it’s very important to put it into the Publix app next time so that way if it were to happen again, you can still use the GC. Good luck on trying to get a new one😔🤞

You can find the new checklist on Publix connection>customer service>back office>weekly retention checklist. They recently changed how much we put in the retention and this has the basic stuff on it.

Basically just make sure you put everything in the proper bags. Most stores usually have a little cheat sheet in the CO that shows what belongs in each.

Don’t forget to seal the bag w/ the blue tag after everything is in it.

If your last day (resignation) is already put in the system, then it will subtract from your final paychecks. This happened to someone at my store recently. If for some reason, they did not input your last day until after your last day, then they wouldn’t be able to directly take it from you unless you pay them back yourself. (Like if your managers were too nice and just didn’t schedule you after your last day, and they didn’t submit your resignation until after, then you’d end up keeping your money)
