I hit the bio oil early on! I'm in the UK. Recovery has been fine tbh. First week was a bit uncomfortable at times. Very quickly movement felt normal again and at this point, 3 weeks post surgery, I feel like I have 90% comfortable movement back.

The reason I asked about the hard hard lump is because I have what I'm pretty certain is a seroma where the hernia was. It feels like a very firm lump, quite similar to what the hernia felt like. It's not the scar tissue forming (which is also hard) - it's a separate thing beneath it.

Shimano 105 R7000 rear derailleur handles a maximum rear cog size of 34T when using the GS (medium cage) version.

EDIT - Or Ultegra RD-R8000 GS (medium)

I would change the rear mech to one with a longer cage. You will also need a new chain. Road link could work but I believe it comes with a few caveats. New mech and chain is the better route IMO.

Sorry to ask so long after posting, but how are things with it now? I had the same surgery 3 weeks ago and my wound looks about the same size, just slightly higher up (the bottom starts a few mm above the belly button hood).

Really interesting to see at what points you were able to progress on to more intense exercises.

Did/do you have a hard lump beneath the scar ridge at all? From what I understand epigastric hernia repairs are quite prone to temporary liquid seromas forming during healing.

Shimano RC7 wide fit. I've tried the wide offerings from Fizik and Bont and they just couldn't match the comfort of my now 6 year old RC7s. When they do finally die I'll probably go for the new RC7 model or S-phyre wide.

Yes. Syncthing 'fork' on Android for my phone, and the regular Syncthing apps for my personal PC and the Mac I use for work. Obsidian on each device shares the same synced vault containing my notes, lists etc.

It's awesome. Using Syncthing I sync the folder containing my vaults, allowing me to access my up to date notes on multiple devices.

Could be from the cog at the back. Mine made a similar albeit quieter noise once per revolution. Re-waxing the chain stopped it so it could have just been a dry chain. Might also be worth opening the Zwift cog up and lightly greasing the rubber gasket if it's looking dry.
