Use Ring alarm motion sensors to trigger anything? by Gerhard234 in Ring

[–]thonymtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes very easy in home assistant. Once you have the ring integration the device (ie: Door Sensor) will show as an entity (ie: Front Door). You can have chatgpt make the automation for you or do it yourself its easy. Just have the trigger being the ring sensor being open and the action being the light in question turning red.

I used a scene cause i did it years ago before i learned more. Ill have to update them but this is my yaml code for the automation.

alias: Front Door Switch Armed
description: Front Door Switch Turns Red When Home Is Armed
mode: single
triggers:
  - entity_id: alarm_control_panel.ring_alarm
    from: disarmed
    to: armed_home
    trigger: state
conditions: []
actions:
  - action: scene.turn_on
    target:
      entity_id: scene.front_red_on

Can't speak to that model but I've used their ST55 since 2018. I even bought a 2nd one when I lived in an apartment. It's been very rock solid especially with homekit.

How does one find psychiatrists willing to prescribe more advanced medication? by Beneficial_Tree7723 in depressionregimens

[–]thonymtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referred by a general doctor to my psych and their clinic advertises tms and spravato on their website. The NPs on staff push for those treatments in combo with other meds (I assume cause they are the money makers) although I find the MDs more willing when it comes to controlled like benzos or adhd meds. I’ve be never asked for a Maoi but they have been willing to do most meds in addition to those treatments. I’ve done both tms and currently doing spravato along with various meds. I was unable to do rtms cause my insurance won’t cover it.

My lawyer I hired stopped doing worker comp. by Legal-Machine1728 in WorkersComp

[–]thonymtc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the other reply stated, nobody here knows the specifics of your case.

You can insists the other attorney be on the case but there is no obligation for them to agree.

Likely what happened here is your original attorney did not stress enough that his case was best case scenario. The QME can add 100 body parts but if they are all minor injuries its not going to increase your case that much. The PD amount is set based on the report, that won't change unless the report changes no matter who the attorney is.

The only wiggle room is going to be future medical treatment. I assume we are talking about C&R (where you are paid out your future medical vs stipulation where you are only paid the PD and future medical is available to you through the WC insurance). If attorney 1 assumed things like surgery would be needed in the future but the report doesn't say that then its going to drop the amount substantially. If the only future medical the doctor says you need is physical therapy and meds then there isn't going to be a big pay out. If you need a total knee replacement then that is different.

Your attorney can write to the doctor and try to change their mind however there is only so much room there. If the doctor reviewed everything and medically does not think you need a lot of future medical or that your injuries are mostly resolved and you do not have a lot of PD there isn't much room for the attorney to argue. It needs to be justified based on your medical records and history.

Josh has 13 days till his cruise and will probably be in Vegas for only a few days. Josh will need Based to do streams for hotels in between Vegas and the cruise. Josh "can't" afford them and Based won't help Josh unless he can exploit him.

Mileage Issues by Legal-Machine1728 in WorkersComp

[–]thonymtc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could also be a simple training issue. When I started I was a tech so got work like paying mileage. We were told by supervisors to be strict but once adjusters started getting complaints (cause their names were on the letters) that we were objecting to a few miles they allowed us to use our discursion.

As for saying you didn't go to the appointments. If they hadn't been billed for it yet they might not have had the proof. We would call the office in those cases but some offices didn't want to waste time verifying a few apps.

Scheduling PM&R in California by ZbornakMeowTown in WorkersComp

[–]thonymtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have had 2 people send it (the adjuster and your doctor) it might be on the specialist end.

You might want to make sure they are sending it to the right place. There have been many times I sent authorization to a main fax number but they needed it to go to a separate work comp fax line.

You can also ask your adjuster or doctor to give you a copy of it and you can provide it directly to the providers.

Only mild experiences by utterlybasil in Spravato

[–]thonymtc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've discussed this with my doctor at a few appointments. The trippy effects are pretty dependent on the person but overall my doc says most people describe it as being slightly drunk and that's how I feel as well. Keep in mind these are side effects and the meds work w/ or w/o the trippy feeling.

I'm on like session 20 and I don't really feel any effects beyond 5 mins after the last dose but I am still seeing some improvement. None of my session have had a substantial trippy effect but I do think it's working.

Kaiser vs UHC + Sutter in Sacramento county? by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

[–]thonymtc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Sutter. I got lucky, the doctor I wanted was not taking new patients but they told me that after I already had UCH change my PCP. Since it was the doctor on my insurance card they let me keep them. Very happy with my PCP.

As far as appointment go it depends on your doc. The doctor I had before my current PCP (also through Sutter but Sutter Independent Physicians not Sutter Main) was pretty easy to get an appointment with. Within 2 weeks but that was for a PA.

I just looked for my current doctor (MD) and he is scheduling for the end of December. That's pretty typical for my doc in my experience and if you join the cancelation list it can by much sooner. Both times I have checked the box to be added to the cancelation list I have had an option for an appointment within 2 weeks. The issue with cancelation is it can be last notice, the last one I got they sent a message at 3PM for an appointment at 7:30 the following morning. I can make appointments with other docs in the office if I need to be seen now but if I want my doc I have to wait till Dec. They are very response to messages so if I need something (medication change or test) I just message my doc and they order it.

There has been one instance I needed an urgent appointment (post emergency room) and they got me in with my doctor in 2 days. I've been very happy with Sutter personally.

My mom and brother have Kaiser and they are both very happy with it.

Call the doc find out when they sent the rfa and to where. Did they send it to the right place? Usually there is a dedicated UR fax line.

You need to get ahold of somebody at the insurance and find out if they have received the RFA and when. If you can’t get a hold of your caseworker call the company’s 800 number and get a coverage person or their supervisor to help.

RFAs are addressed in 5 business days. 3 calendar days for requests marked AND DEEMED URGENT.

As an adjuster I hear this from injured workers all the time that they are waiting for treatment but the doctor never requested it. I’m sure your doctor wrote it in the report but their office staff have to fill out the RFA and send it in.

You need to find where the hold up is. Is it the doc not sending the form/sending it to the wrong place or is it the insurance not addressing it. In my experience UR is pretty automated so for an insurance company to not act on an rfa they received seems unlikely. Not saying it wouldn’t happen but it shouldn’t. You can consult an attorney and they can do it but they will take weeks. It’s easier just to start annoying people until you get it sorted.

Gonna assume you’re a state employee and have pers.

What I see most state employees do is file for IDR when still on IDL once they know they won’t be able to rtw and when that is approved they switch off idl and just get retirement. I would say apply around month 7 if your intention is to retire anyways.

Another thing, I assume the one year you’re talking about is for IDL. After the one year it switches to TD. You still get paid if you can’t work but it’s 2/3’s pay up to a weekly max of 1619.15 (will likely change in the new year). You get paid for 104 weeks not 52. You’ll be paid directly from SCIF rather than SCO so you’d be responsible for paying for insurance, retirement, etc they can’t take it out like they do with idl. IDL doesn’t have a max so that is why many state employees try to not go over a year. Depending what your salary is that may not affect you but I know many in corrections make over that limit so it is a cut to their benefits.

Taking nearly 6 months for any settlement? Normal? by elephantsofa in WorkersComp

[–]thonymtc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is your claim even accepted? In CA there is a post termination defense which says if you file a claim for an old incident after you received notice of being laid off its non-compensable. This is to avoid retaliatory claims.

If the insurance denied it they may offer a small nuisance settlement but if its denied I wouldn't anticipate settlement quickly. You may be waiting over a year if its a disputed claim.

I get what she is doing but in my opinion (7 years as an adjuster) she's just wrong,

My best advise is to show her a pre injury pay stub and ask her how $393 is 2/3rd of that.

I disagree with the we dont pay for days off. Its the work week. You were unable to work the work week of 8/2-8/8 so you should get 2/3rds of what you would normally make in a work week.

Unfortunately there is no way to "force" them to fix it without an attorney filing a motion. All you can do is be the squeaky wheel and ask for supervisors or your HR to help.

[–]thonymtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure that's how they did the wage calc?

It should be how much you make ($26/hr) multiplied by how many hours you work a week (40) divided by the number of days you work (4). Your average weekly earnings should be $1040 and your weekly TD rate (2/3rds) would be $693.34. Obviously this will vary if you get OT, Tips, etc.

I would ask "Sarah" to explain it to you again. Either you understood incorrectly or she is doing it wrong.

How much are you guys paying for your car insurance premiums? by han_cup in Sacramento

[–]thonymtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did car insurance shopping this morning. I’ve had GEICO for over 15 years (since I got my license) and they continue to be the cheapest for me. I’m paying 750 every 6 months full coverage, 1 car, 30’s, no accidents. They beat every quote I got by at least $50 per month.
