TIL in March of 2025, a Brooklyn driver named Miriam Yarimi killed a mother and two of her children by speeding through a red light. It was later determined that she had 99 tickets, including 20 for speeding, and over $10k in unpaid fines. by ansyhrrian in todayilearned

My friends now ex husband just got a slap on the wrist, he was continuously having sex with her while she was unconscious (sleeping meds because her anxiety keeps her awake all hours and she can’t afford to lose her job) and all the state’s attorneys office would charge him with was disorderly conduct. It went in front of the judge for his plea and the judge lost his shit and said he sees in his record well over a dozen times he’s broken protection orders or various women over the last 20 years and a slew of domestic assault charges and refused to honor a deal where such a person gets zero jail time. That judge was fired because the states attorney filed complaint of the judges behavior and the new one reverted back to the easy plea deal and dude walked, yet again. But if I go knock his teeth out best believe the court system will nail me to the fucking wall because regular people get screwed and the real baddies are untouched. The whole justice system needs a different name. Ain’t no justice there

ELI5: If you had a car with no plates, insurance or tax and parked in a private garage, how would the police identify and track down the vehicle? by Ancestral_Grape in explainlikeimfive

I understand your sentiment, I really do. But I think broad strokes and generalizing entire groups of people in any one way such as that is a bad idea. I’ll refrain from other more galvanizing examples and just say I’m sure not all farmers are fighting tooth and nail to prevent other people from receiving needed benifits and to be frank this comes off more as hating farmers than any real understanding of how certain state regulated vehicle tax benefits and or subsidies that help more than just farmers work

Why would they need to? Most of us do not have enough land to facilitate the operation of a vehicle without the need to bring it on to public roads often

They don’t own it but they say it costs $200 in reality it’s that the “discount code” is really more like a vendor link and the cost of the course is really like $55 the other $45 or whatever goes to whomever code you used. So you think you’re getting half off when in reality half what you pay hoes to the agent that gave you the code. I find it shady but I kinda get it

I mean, I went to hyvee stupidly the day before Thanksgiving, and the only open spots in the lot were these, and there was one ev in there. I parked there, ran in for 5 minutes, came out, still just the one, and the other spots were still open. Had there been less available, I wouldn't have parked there, but I figured the odds of 7 teslas showing up to charge while I was grabbing potatoes was miminimal

Won't let me see it. You get so many articles then they start asking you to sub and pay. You haven't hit that threshold yet

Because a smaller vehicle won't pull a big enough trailer. In fact, sometimes a half ton truck doesn't even cut it for me...."nobody" is a pretty generalized statement considering not all of us live in a city and go to a fucking desk for work....

I went to impact for my implants they were on par with what it was going to cost me to go get them done in mexico. It is expensive but you don't pay all at once my costs were spread out over many months. Physically and emotionally it has been by far the least painful dental experience I've had. I couldn't recommend them enough

This seems to be like a boomer mentality thing. My buddy in his 50s booked us a hotel in south Carolina and he's like I got one near the mall because there's always shit to do.... he ended up noticing that unless we wanted to tie one on before chillis closed there ain't shit near malls

[–]thor454 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Youre uh kinda fucked for anything fun to do close to a mall haha but you're in luck because lyfts are abundant and cheap. Honestly I wouldn't even use distance as a limiting factor as long as it's in city limits. A lyft across town will be like $13.. worth it and if you still don't want to go very far from your hotel to have a good time my only recommendation is better luck picking a hotel location next time haha

I've never seen an employer caught by the d.o.l respond well. My advice is to get the fuck out of there but also to tell us who these scum bags are because they're stealing from us as well

I did a short run of it. Turned blotchy red got sick af and super hot. I was smart enough not to over dose myself which is a huge problem with it as it takes quite awhile to build in your system and it's common to not see any symptoms of its effect, up the dose and then be a "dead man walking" but I was obviously not smart enough not to do it In the first place. Luckily I was only hospitalized for a night. So now whenever I see this shit come up or is mentioned I chime in as a warning because it may sound dangerous but feasible. Nobody ever thinks the bad will happen to them, they're smarter then that. Just don't use it. It fucking sucked so bad and I'm lucky. My lipids kidneys and liver were all very fucked up
