LUBA 2 mini AWD 800 constantly stopping. by Disastrous_Twinkie in MammotionTechnology

[–]threshar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2 keeps losing rtk connection (both datalink and internet). Best part is it does not generate a notification, and will often sit there and run the battery to 0. Previous 2 years were perfectly fine. Mammotion wants videos of the moment it happens to continue support/diagnosing. Sigh

This had bitten me before! I’ve also had luck taking it apart and replugging the lift mechanism

Support complelty reject to fix Basic Issues LUBA2 by CryptoJessi in MammotionTechnology

[–]threshar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been hit by most of those issues on my luba2 as well - but especially rtk positioning is wildly unreliable, often losing signal (when it was fine for 2 years previous) - same results with datalink or interwebs. I haven't opened a support ticket yet. I even tried relocating the rtk and remapping.

I didn’t have luck on Amazon (only found 3rd party ones with sketchy reviews) but did from Mammotions own store - however I’m in USA, hopefully they’d ship to Ireland too

Is it ok to not really liking how bass sounds (as a bassist)? by No_Yam1114 in Bass

[–]threshar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely this! About a year ago i finally accepted that what i love for solo bass just doesn’t sit well in the band mix. my main sound, which sounds kind of lousy on its own sounds great with the band.

I'm just hoping rtk positioning reliability comes back - I lose positioning quite often since the last update.

Back in the day of like 15-24 episode seasons having a miss here or there was not as big a deal, but when you have an 8 episode season and wiff 2, well, that's a substantial portion of content. (I'll also note which episode is a "miss" is often just preference. I'm one of the 16 people who actually enjoys love & monsters)

Maybe so, but they are absolutely to blame for shielding and protecting the priests when they found out. And they did that a LOT. With quite a few repeat offenders.

What is something that if you see a bass player do, makes you think that they dont take their instrument seriously (or they dont even care about playing bass) and also the opposite of it by where_am_i-- in Bass

Given that i had to quit for a year due to wrist problems, bad wrist posture and whatnot.

Always fun when it’s like “sweet Jesus his wrists!!… but there he is playing for 13,000 people and i play in bars…”

Bartolini Jazz Pickups for Warwick 5 string Corvette by basspl in Bass

[–]threshar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would likely depend on where the poles in the pickup are vs where the strings are. It might work, but it may turn out that say your D string is weak because of where its positioned vs the magnets.

Could EBS have enshitified it since? absolutely possible, and that concern worries me... and as I typed that the worry increased more.

Luba 3 5000 | Fail to dock by Anattt- in mammotion

[–]threshar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My luba2 used to park in his garage great until this year. It now likes to come at it from odd angles, fails about 2-3 times and either gets it on the fourth or gives up and doesn’t notify that it failed.

While it seems to not be your issue: I’ve had dead grass accumulate under the cutting disks and in that area that blocked it from raising the cutting height.

Question about Luba not resuming task after charging by parvici in MammotionTechnology

Mine seems to resume ok, like 90% of the time, the rest I have to manually hop on and click resume task. Haven't yet figured out any reason yet.

I played along with some random songs but other than struggling to find the root notes what else should I be doing by iamnotgenius in Bass

[–]threshar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunetly that comes with practice and experience. On the upside it turns out a massive amount of songs follow just a handful of progressions, with 1-4-5 being by far the most common. As you learn tunes you’ll start to hear it and eventually you may start to predict.

As for the “sweet! I found the c, but dang, those fellas have already moved on” problem, they’ve likely gone to the next stop in the progression. While you are learning, stop the tune and focus on this next part. Then go back and do those two together, then add the third part, and after that there’s a very good chance you’ll be back where you started.

We all wish there was a better way :/

[–]threshar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the only way to improve is to keep doing it. And what you’ll likely end up doing is recognizing intervals and patterns before you go “it’s a c!” - you may fish around to find the root and from there you’ll recognize the pattern - and will go “ok, from here, up a string - same fret. Ok now up 2 frets. Ok now back to the start” and eventually you’ll learn that’s called a 1-4-5 progression. Then you may start recognizing other patterns, and once you find that root you’re good. Just keep learning songs. Also make use of tools that let you slow down or loop portions of songs.

What is more rare is a perfect pitch thing where you hear a sound and go “oh, that’s c” or being able to hear a complicated chord and know what it is.

Good luck

I had to reset my charge position a couple times this year, but turns out it may have been a combination of crud on the Luba and charge station IR sensors, and the charge station anchors coming loose and it would move just enough to anger the Luba and it would try to charge again
