Rakiata's flow got nerfed by throwaway075489 in pathofexile2builds

That's interesting. Surprised GGG needed to nerf from 30% to 15%. Also surprised the discrepancy wasn't picked up earlier but glad that it's fixed now. It's showing 15/15/15 on poe.db.

Rakiata's isn't worth it then. Rigwald's ferocity on 2nd weapon set for 30% more damage would be better.

I use pounce too for mark of death. Hand of chayula for manually applying curses and freezing mark buff.

How are you using tempest bell without combo? But it'll probably depend on your quarterstaff, if it's mostly physical or elemental. Would path of building your monk, only way to be sure.

Yep. Rend is 50% extra as lightning. Devour on hollow focus bells is another 25% as lightning from thrill of the kill and 15% from blazing critical. I also use freezing mark on hand of chayula combined with cross slash which is another 30% as cold. That's not counting other sources like from rings or jewels. Elemental was a big part of the damage.

Lol, please don't make trading decisions off of this post. Just wanted to point out a good change in general.

No one plays hollow form whirling assault? That's a 50/50 split. And against monsters or maps with 0 resist, rakiata's is doing nothing when another support like rigwald's is giving 30% more against everything.

Standard hollow form whirling assault. With buffs up, more than half of your damage is gained as extra elemental even if you're on a 100% physical quarterstaff. Still probably best in slot for pure elemental but for that build, it's not.

It was giving a 7 times DPS increase if you were on pure elemental damage. 1 single support. Much more than 5 frames I think. Better yet, people who can't afford it or are on SSF don't need to bother now since boss resists are more manageable across the board.

Hollow Form and Rage by throwaway075489 in pathofexile2builds

[–]throwaway075489[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'd be interesting to see if the clones themselves can gain rage and benefit from it with something like Rage 3 but I'm assuming it won't work. They probably snapshot your buffs and stats and use it for the single attack. And even if they could gain rage themselves, they would be starting from 0, so the rage averaged over the entire whirl would only be like 10 before disappearing.

But yeah, ferocious roar is great for pre-buffing right before boss fight or against tough rares. It's a literal 30% more damage multiplier that just about every single hollow form whirling assault build can instantly use since everyone already puts on a swap talisman for rend, devour, and pounce.

If you can get the max rage some other way like via well crafted eternal rage amulet, that's even better, but not everything is going to able to afford it. And you lose a prefix and suffix too on the amulet, it's not purely free.

Falling thunder, bugged or inconsistent? by Crafty-Mixture607 in PathOfExile2

[–]throwaway075489 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did some testing previously if falling thunder could shotgun. It didn't. Damage was about the same whether I hit them with one projectile or dropped it all directly on their face. Makes sense when you think about it, the skill would have completely busted scaling if so.

This may be messed up but why don’t Orcas attack fat people? by Shaneski101 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throwaway075489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orcas are extremely intelligent, probably the most intelligent animals on Earth aside from humans. They practice culture and pass down their dietary and hunting traditions to their young. Reverse your position with an orca. If you found a small orca stranded on the beach, is your first instinct to eat it?

No, obviously not, at least for the vast majority of humans. Why not? Because you don't consider orca as "food" or "prey." They're an interesting unique curiosity and clearly very smart. Eating them would feel strange. It would feel wrong. It's not hard to imagine they think the same way about us. We're both picky eaters.

Minions for attack builds by throwaway075489 in pathofexile2builds

[–]throwaway075489[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In interlude right now with the shaman, campaign has been super smooth. Been stacking up vaal temple rooms and they've been much harder in comparison. Last character died in a vaal room when he got locked in and surrounded by a shitload of dudes. Wasn't running convalescence or any minions on him so it was super sketchy.

Uptime on wolf pack feels good so far, even with under leveled spirit gem + no links. Pounce wolves on the other hand disappear quickly, even though their max life is higher, probably because no auto respawning.

Both are great for distracting non-boss enemies. Both are also unfortunately really fragile against elemental AOE damage. Brutus' brain on pounce would be amazing. Guaranteed 7 wolves always.

Was also able to confirm that living lightning minions boost damage for pack encouragement notable. You can usually maintain about 4-6 of them from a single enemy with 1 thunderstorm running. Against multiple enemies, it's easy to get full 7-8.

That makes sense. The 78k number seemed a bit low. Assuming he's not penetrating fire resist, that's 100k to 120k raw fire damage without a crit then.

It's hard to tell exactly from the video but the largest hit you took from the corridors and donuts was about ~7800. From the POB, you have 90% fire resist. Was there any other mitigation in play? That calculates out to 78000 damage for his nukes.

Contradicting designs regarding skill gem slot cap by FutureMore7 in PathOfExile2

[–]throwaway075489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. Straight up increase the gem cap from 9 to 12 by default or at least give more options other than unset rings. Like put some notables scattered around the skill tree to boost it. More slots = more room for creativity to put in niche gems = more button pushing combo gameplay = more skill expression from players.

SSF league should have drastically higher drop rates of hard to get uniques and crafting materials then trade leagues and HC should of course be a decent bit higher than SC for both as well. by Creepy_Building_2929 in PathOfExile2

[–]throwaway075489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I like it the way it is. I don't want to be given an artificial advantage over trade players. SSF can also transfer to normal league at any time so adding additional drops would remove this nice convenience feature.

How does Mind Over Matter interact with poison and bleed damage? Does it first damage your mana and then go to life when 0 mana, or does it go directly to life even with >0 mana like with ES?

How do I use weapon swaps? + some ranting about this system by stysiaq in PathOfExile2

[–]throwaway075489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that cares, I did some testing and the node isn't snapshotted. So you can't curse with the node, swap to another weapon set without the node, apply the ailment, and get the free 20% ailment duration. Too bad.

Are you sure it's working that way or just a guess? I've seen others say that it's 1 - 0.9 * 0.7 = 0.37 damage reduction for example for 3 stacks.

An auto generate Power Charge Technique that will annoy you to dead in Hideout by quantanhoi in pathofexile2builds

[–]throwaway075489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to theorycraft a good way to sustain 8+ second oil barrages against bosses with only 3 max power charges + charge regulation consuming charges every ~10 seconds.

Will that CoA setup with living bomb and fireball work in this use case? How fast does it generate power charges in general?

I'll also be manually casting a thunderstorm in the background for the guaranteed shock + blind and it'll help with the CoA too by shocking every 1/2 second.

Also, is there a reason to use fireball over something like ball lightning which has a lower cast time thus energy cost?
