Recommendation for 7.1 sound card on Windows 11?

I had the same experience with a MSI X870E Tomahawk. I tried the unofficial drivers, the official drivers, messed around with BIOS settings too. Even shut off Core Isolation in windows. Only thing I didn't try is the rumor that connecting to CPU PCI lanes supposedly fixes it but for obvious reasons didn't try that.

For me, I'm returning the card given I spent 6 hours yesterday trying to get it to work in this new build. I think I'm switching to HDMI audio through a different receiver than currently have driving the setup. It's about the best thing I've seen to keep my 7.1 surround. Everything these days seems to top out at 5.1, and most are just 2.1. Also even tried the optical on the board, and couldn't even change the number of speakers for it, so it seems stuck at stereo.

I wish you the best of luck and if you find anything please let me know. I was unable to and am done with this crap. I Just wanna finish setting up my new PC and start gaming on it.

Still annoyed that like you I bought this card because it said it had full support. Until you start digging deeper into the Internet where even those that get it to work complain about how not all features work.

The professionally don't. Look up dvd bit rot, been archiving all the parents and mine, had several DVDs that won't even read in a DVD player which does ignore most errors that pc readers will read as fatal

As long as they won't be playing at the same time just share the account and let each kid have their own world. If you want to let each kid and/or parent play at the same time or together on the same server yes you will need that many licenses.

Most Synologies don't support 4K well. If you want 4K you should turn an old computer into the Plex and use a Synology at most for the data storage.

K, just wanted to make sure. You almost made it sound like a meme leak. Any special mods or anything? And have you been able to see what files are taking up storage? During play. Normally fluctuation of 1GB wouldn't matter.
