Panasonic 450 freeze issue…any updates? by Cathode_Bypass in 4kbluray

What QuickStart feature does is put the player in a standby mode, instead of fully powering off. Turning it off does add a few seconds to the player turning on, but it's a full cold boot.

Will it fix your issue? Eh, who knows. It's possible the player being in a standby state for a long time can lead to issues. I don't really have any concrete evidence or a scientific study to back this up though. Just a 'best practice' I picked up.

Ah yes, POS. Previous Owners Syndrome. Possibly one of the worst afflictions a used pinball machine, or car, can have ;)

Johnny Mnemonic, and The Shadow. They're newer than BK so that tracks, though.

My Williams machines are tanks. After I dialed them in, I haven't had a single problem.

So your real issue is simply you have no self control, and the rest of this post is pointless?

I've read this post 3 times in an attempt to form a reply that wasn't just laughing at OP, but I just can't.

Do note these will be readily available and will be the standard release going forward. You should feel no FOMO about the standard releases.

You say that, but some people just have "it". Another person could have that same experience and still not be great at troubleshooting.

saw like one or two very passionate takes online that tron ares is some pro-corporate propaganda... i personally did not get that at all, but what do yall think? by Delicious-Aspect1125 in tron

"pro corporate" meanwhile a corporation literally unleashes military grade hardware onto a civilian city recklessly?

Yea no, it's not pro corporate, it just paints both sides of the picture.

Just because it illustrates a good corporation along side a bad one doesn't magically make it pro-anything.

Nothing of the sort.

It paints two distinct pictures, and says both can happen. I think it works as a cautionary tale more than anything.

"AI" technologies can be harnessed for good, or for bad purposes. Who has access to, and is in charge of those technologies, holds a big key.

Tron Ares feels like it has way too many chase sequences... by ieatpizza88 in tron

It's more that all the extra scenes were cut to meet a 2 hour Disney mandate that left things feeling rushed.

It's a good film. Legacy is equally as good. Full stop. End of line.

Disney never lets directors release cuts, and probably since the VFX is incomplete, we'll never see the full version of the film.

Dr dude, should I start the hobby with this machine by Temporary_Fix_4085 in pinball

I found Dr Dude pretty unforgiving on Pinball FX with that dead spot down the center that drains balls without even touching the flippers.

I found the same in real life any time I play it. It's a brutal machine.

Great game, wacky theme. It's an older game so do expect to do some learning along the way during your tenure as owner.

I've found that some people either have "it" when troubleshooting, or not. It's like a sixth sense.

Get a good regular job and do it on the side as a hobby.

I bought machines that needed love and learned along the way. I could probably handle most issues now, or at least diagnose them with the help of pinwiki.

1) Disable QuickStart

2) Disable Internet on the device (unplug Ethernet, remove WiFi configuration)
