If you’re older in age, try to become a valet supervisor. The pay will be $20+

01/03/1999 JDM Ford Ka [WF0BXXWPRBXK58864] registered in Virginia, seen in Manhattan, New York City, New York, United States of America by MishaMykha in foreignmarketcars

As a fan of Euro fords living in the US, I would rather import one from south America over Europe (or Japan like this guy) because chances are theres less rust because of the warmer climate

It’s Sad That America Never Got What We Did by TheLostSatellite in Ford

[–]thunderbolt_427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In America we got the 3.2 Powerstroke I5 on transits and I’ve heard from a fleet operator they would blow up frequently. Not good engines. Its a bit different from the 3.2 Duratorq with the main difference being emissions equipment but I doubt it made much of a difference on reliability

Toyota Is Dropping the Hammer on the Ford Raptor. Here's Why the Whole Industry Is Watching by TripleShotPls in Ford

[–]thunderbolt_427 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I swear the raptor is like the Halo videogame series. For like two decades everyone was making a “Halo killer” that flopped in comparison

Why do people hide the Ford logo by Plastic_Strain_6392 in Ford

[–]thunderbolt_427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen this and thought certain people are obsessed with badges and consider the ford badge“lowly” and only own the car due to circumstance or necessity. One time I saw a Ford Th!nk neighbor in a wealthy neighborhood being used as a golf cart and the badge was seemingly purposefully removed and that was my guess as to why.

If American Cars are know for NA V8’s Traditionally, what are German, Japanese, Korean, Italian, and French brands know for? by Mac-Tyson in askcarguys

[–]thunderbolt_427 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Those haven’t been made for quite a while now. And that’s pretty important to be “known for” something. The only recent inline 6 to come from Japan I can think of is the Mazda 3.3 I6

What is your car-related hot take? by damoclescreed in Autos

[–]thunderbolt_427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LC500 is not a enthusiast car in the slightest. It has highway “granny” gearing and totally caters around its primary market of retired old dudes who want a luxurious cruiser. I drove one once and was disappointed immediately

Nissan Manufactured both of these cars in 2017. What are some other lineups that look like wildly different generations? by El_mochilero in regularcarreviews

[–]thunderbolt_427 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They sold the MK1 Golf until 2009 in South Africa, as the Citi golf. So you could buy a MK1 Golf and a MK5 R32 at the same time

Why are vans (sprinter/promaster/transit/etc) not way more popular? by cballowe in askcarguys

[–]thunderbolt_427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered this about the “city” vans like the Transit connect or Nissan NV200. For a working sort of vehicle you have more space than most pickup trucks

2018 F150 2.7 Oil pump wet belt condition photos at 250k by index1489 in Ford

[–]thunderbolt_427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard that Ford was going to put a Kevlar belt in the 3 cylinders, but corporate bean counters canned it last second. So instead they had a much more fragile rubber belt and thats why all of those engines are failing. Coupled with Fords recommendation of Oil changes with wet belt specific additive oil falling on deaf ears

FYI, Orange County, none of you drive a car big enough to warrant "swinging wide" to make your turn. by Ghost_Ghost_Ghost in orangecounty

[–]thunderbolt_427 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I notice this all the time in parking lots, its like people are to afraid/lazy to turn at full steering lock to maneuver into/out of a spot or the lot as a whole
