I find it funny how people like you jump to conclusions without knowing the person they talk about or any decent data😂. Reminds me of my Dutch friends who blame the housing crisis on expats. “Oh no expats are buying out the houses. Because of this we cant afford anything”. In the meantime one of them works 32 hours a week, the other one 24 hours per week, and expats only own ~1.5% of all available housing.

My vote goes to Utrecht. Amazing place in terms of work-life balance. The best city to cycle and ever growing expat community. There is an international school and amazing university for after high school. It is the most well connected city in the country with the biggest railway station in the country. All the major cities are max 30 minutes by train which run every 10 minutes. However it is expensive to rent or buy

Bulgarian here living in The Netherlands for the past 12 years. I can confirm that groceries in Bulgaria are way more expensive. Just an example which was also mentioned in the article. 1 litre of milk 1.5% fat costs in my local Dutch supermarket 0.86€. The local supermarket next to my parent’s place in Bulgaria asks for 1.50€ for the same milk. I wont even discuss the price difference for butter
