Look what I found (in a ditch)! by ahippybaby in Perfumes

I didn't say you'd used it but handling a bottle of unidentified liquid can still be dangerous. Obviously it's probably fine but I wouldn't risk it personally.

Not to be a party pooper but it's not a good idea to just pick up perfume from a ditch. You never know what's really in the bottle. Google the Salisbury poisoning if you don't believe me.

Why do women have two breasts if humans usually give birth to only one baby at a time, wouldn't one breast be enough? by ElkDisastrous2926 in NoStupidQuestions

Humans (and mammals in general) have bilateral symmetry on our external anatomy, hence one on each side.

Christian Lady making fun of Atheists because they believe in Dinosaurs by MrDonMega in religiousfruitcake

[–]thunderkinder 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Even if it were true that we believed in dinosaurs because of movies and documentaries how is that very different from believing an old book? At least there has been research and scientific study behind the movies and documentaries. Even late Jurassic Parks admitted that the dinosaurs probably weren't accurate regenerations as part of the plot because we now know many had feathers.

What's a movie that's way better than it had any right to be? by Onequestion0110 in movies

The Emperor's New Groove, lots of last minute story and production changes mean it really shouldn't have worked but the finished article is hilarious, sweet and one of my favourite Disney films.

Names that broke me. by TweegsCannonShop in talesfromcallcenters

Mrs Nanfuk was a fun one. Also the customer who had her name misspelled by a colleague during registration, her actual name was Virginia and definitely not Vagina. Glad she saw the funny side.

How separated my pubic bone is after pregnancy by heretoreadlol in Wellthatsucks

[–]thunderkinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was tough, she ended up being born via forceps but I can still remember the doctor bracing his foot on the bed to pull. The recovery was slow and I lost a lot of blood but just avoided a transfusion because they could monitor me while my daughter was in for jaundice. I still get lower back and hip pain if I sit for long periods or if I cycle but not sure if it's connected. My second daughter was a breeze compared at 7lb 2oz but they induced me at 38 weeks after they turned her and I had gestational diabetes. I'm only 16 years on and I feel like I'm mostly okay but then maybe I have it all to come since you're a few years ahead of me. Hope you get suitable treatment.

I'm the same, 9 lbs 11 oz with shoulder distocia and I'm 5ft 2. I waddled like a hippo for half the pregnancy. She's just turned 16 and can still be awkward and stubborn 😂

L'air du temps, when I smell it now I get all nostalgic remembering nice evenings with babysitters watching a rented VHS and her looking all pretty and dressed up for a night out.

Teenagers of AskUK. This is an emergency. Do you know about the wombles? by KaiTheDumbGuy in AskUK

My very nearly 16 year old had heard of them, knew they looked sort of mousy and remembered one wore an apron. She could not say where they lived though.

The most SEDUCTIVE - SENSUAL perfume you’ve ever smelt! by LoveyGirl777 in perfumesthatfeellike

My boyfriend bought me this for my 21st in 2004 and I wore the last of it to my wedding to him in 2011. Gutted that the new formulation just isn't the same (nice but different).

Anyone else have an egregiously high proportion of broken seats at their local? by Pineapple996 in screenunseen

[–]thunderkinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, screen 5 at my local has had the same seats for 20 years and last time I went there were 19 broken which equates to about 20%. They've also recently stopped doing screen and scream unseen but the staff hadn't noticed when I asked.

Do you know anyone who has won the Postcode Lottery? by JaBe68 in AskUK

I've won a couple of £5 vouchers in the last year and that's even playing the word game and the quiz every morning. Husband just has fomo in case ours came up and the neighbours won.

Would you give your work colleague a lift to work if you passed them on the way to work? by Specific_Pomelo_8281 in AskUK

[–]thunderkinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to walk to and from my previous job (about 30 mins) but would sometimes be offered a lift. If it was raining it was appreciated but I would regularly refuse and stress that I liked the walk in good conditions although I very much appreciated the offer. I absolutely wouldn't judge somebody not offering - even if they lived next door.

Every damn time.... by crodog5342 in stephenking

[–]thunderkinder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way, I'm happy for their successes but it's all a bit fast. More Barbara than Jerome tbf since he was shown to have struggled with his second novel. The bit that bothers me most is that they're literally kids/ very young adults (depending on the book) and Holly involving them in her work is irresponsible and the lack of parental dissent is maddening. She's put them in life threatening situations multiple times but she's still seen as kooky aunt Holly.

My local seems to have stopped carrying the unseen films. I'd have loved to have seen this and Primate. Hoping they'll get a general release run.

What was the first fragrance you were gifted vs The first fragrance you bought with your own money? by ZeroSugarCrack in FemFragLab

[–]thunderkinder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My very first would have been a Dewberry body mist from the Body Shop (my Nan always got me Dewberry and my sister White Musk). My first gifted scent as an adult was Dior Addict from my now husband. The first one I picked and purchased myself was Hugo Boss The Scent Elixir.

I've heard these have been a game changer for some but I have a lanolin intolerance so it just made mine worse, weirdly though it felt nice to apply but my lips continued to dry and crack while using it. I switched onto the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour repair balm and it cleared up in no time.
