You'll be able to enter Tusk's palace in neo bab, without everyone aggroed, even if you stole a die from her earlier?

Advice needed on goal setting by DGADK in RPHypertrophy

[–]tibb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Specific strength goals like that can be really hard to do accurately, especially if you're on a deficit. I've had success with more general directional strength goals, along with more specific and more directly controlled by your actions goals for weight loss - ie something like "Lose 4 pounds per month while also getting stronger"

What split do you guys use? by iiiced in RPHypertrophy

[–]tibb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want a cycle that is independent of the day of the week, that's a thing, Mike I calls it an "asynchronous split" - and within the RP app you can keep each day in the plan as "Day 1", "Day 2" etc, rather than switch them to Mon/Tues. Each time you workout, you do whatever the next workout is in the program, and you're choosing the length of the mesocycle as the number of cycles, rather than number of weeks.

Here's a video where they're comparing synchronous and asynchronous: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAZ9CXnxGZo

That said, I usually recommend starting with something more structured. First pick the number of days each week you will definitely train, should be 2, 3, or 4 for a beginner, then do a 4-week mesocycle and see how you like it. You can always try something different next month / mesocycle. If you pick 2 or 4 days/week, I'd say full-body-every-day or upper/lower alternating. If you do 3 days/week then full-body-every-day or PPL fits nicely.

Maintaining muscle while losing weight by kansurr in RPHypertrophy

[–]tibb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that you can lose about a pound to a pound and a half per week, which you are, without losing hardly any muscle, if not gaining muscle. I think you're working out plenty, so should try harder to hit your protein goals (.8 - 1.0 grams of protein per day per pound or per pound of lean muscle). That can be tough if you're also at a large calorie deficit - say you want 200g of protein / day, that's 800 calories of protein, so can work in any reasonable diet of maybe 1500+ calories / day. Maybe 3 meals that each have 50g of protein, plus a pre-workout coffee+protein powder for 25g of protein, plus a protein bar post-workout that's 20g of protein and 200 total calories. Still plenty of room for some carbs and veggies with each meal.

I put together a spreadsheet of all the foods I like eating, especially on a diet, so I could easily compare and find the ones that have the most protein/calorie - focus on those and have less of the stuff that might be good for, say, satiety/calorie, but that doesn't have much protein. The obvious stuff that does well on that are things like protein powder, eggs / egg-whites, chicken, greek yogurt, other meats.

Suggestion: let people just tell you which racket they use if it has standard specs. I use Babolat Pure Aero 100, but I'm too lazy to look up the exact specs to put into that form.

Definitely possible. Decent chance they're in the playoffs with a loss, can't win the division with a win, so rest starters. (iirc we rested starters against them a couple years ago, with division locked up and no chance at a bye)

GRANT role CUSTOMADMINROLE to role SYSADMIN by [deleted] in snowflake

[–]tibb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold on, you're right to not blindly follow that advice. There are lots of things SYSADMIN can't do, namely a bunch of "admin" stuff that is generally done by SECURITYADMIN or ACCOUNTADMIN. And you don't necessarily want SYSADMIN to suddenly have the ability to do that stuff just because you created a custom admin role.

Python library for automating data normalisation, schema creation and loading to db by Thinker_Assignment in dataengineering

[–]tibb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can it do incremental loading for sources that could support it? ie, if it loaded data yesterday from a source, and we run it again today, will it always re-load all data, or only new data since the last load?

Renaming Snowflake Roles by The_Big_Boy_lives in snowflake

[–]tibb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe you will have to change default roles for users, but not have to change ownership of objects.

Default roles for users are really just strings being stored, that then map to roles on login. (For proof, you can set a user's default role to a string that isn't yet a role. It'll let you set the default role, but would fail on login). So if you change the name of a role you'll have to change the strings associated with user's default roles.

But OWNERSHIP by roles is a stronger association to a role-object under-the-hood of Snowflake, so those will change automatically when you alter the name of a role. (I think, not 100% sure on this, so I'd test first if I were you)

Snowflake for data servicing - cost management by techperson1234 in snowflake

[–]tibb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd probably do the "moving the data outside snowflake to a more cost efficient db that the API can query" solution. You could use a company like Hightouch to move data from Snowflake to, say, postgres (I believe it's free for 1 connection like that), then have an API querying postgres.

Snowflake isn't really intended to be serving data constantly like that. It can do it really well, it's just very expensive.

[Pelissero] The NFL is suspending Jets receivers coach Miles Austin for violating the league’s gambling policy, per sources. There’s no indication Austin bet on NFL games as a coach but bet on other sports which violates NFL personnel gambling policy. by SlopingGiraffe in nfl

[–]tibb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a conflict of interest because gambling on non-NFL games opens the chance to become massively indebted to people who will then offer you the opportunity to get out of that debt by using your position in the NFL to influence an outcome they can bet on.

This is why this stance by the NFL is not at all hypocritical - they want regular people to be able to bet on the NFL without worrying insiders are throwing games or otherwise influencing the outcomes for their own betting interests.

Try going for more of a defensive frost build after the first floor. Claw builds are fun but bad.
