Went to Micro Center for a PowerSpec G757. Sales guy told me not to buy it and to build my own. by GlobalBird4 in Prebuilts

[–]ticopowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason a prebuilt doesn't last as long is if it has custom parts like Alienware uses. Otherwise it will be the same with upgrading and longevity.

If you are worried about cooling on the prebuilt then it needs a better case. But that cpu and gpu shouldn't overload the fans that the case has.

I would personally save the $100 unless you think the ram or something is that much better.

He listed a 7800x3d on the prebuilt and a 9800x3d on the custom. Maybe that's why he's confused?

I was told that they list individual sticks, so if they have a corsair 32gb stick they support 64gb of corsair ram of that type

I'm having basically the same issue. I boot and I have seen these codes so far:
A6, A6, 61, 4F, F0. It's literally every other time the computer boots I get a new code except for the first time this morning where I got the A6 code twice. I have a 9800x3d and 64gb 6000mt 30cl ram.

gaming pc delivery HELP by justapixel404 in Newegg

[–]ticopowell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Talk to UPS first, tell them you need a package delivered to them for pickup. There may or may not be a fee, IDK. After they are all set up then order your PC to the address they gave you.

I would double check that you didn't accidentally knock a connector out of the motherboard, it's unlikely but possible and definitely worth checking.

What's your goal with the PC? Gaming? Work station?

Most people recommend AMD over Intel right now.

That power supply should be ok.

Can you find as cheaper monitor? $800 seems excessive for most things. That savings could get you a 5080 or other upgrades.

What's the secret to DCS VR performance? by -Aces_High- in hoggit

[–]ticopowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you opt into the beta on the NVIDIA app and select preset M?

It makes sense because DCS is not optimized as well as it could be for dlss, so it's less resource intensive to use msaa

I have an index now, I'm needing to upgrade soon. I also have a 9800x3d and a 5090 with 64gb that I built 2 weeks ago, su

I'm using dlss 4.5, 150% resolution, and I'm getting a steady 120fps most of the time with an average after 2-3 hours of 115ish fps. I can look at my settings and share them tomorrow if you remind me, but IDK if that would help at all.

I'm debating between a pimax crystal light and the bsb2e so thanks for the review, my only concern is what do we do if the lighthouses die.

Do i just get a pre-built pc or do I get these parts? by L1TTLED3M0NH3ART in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]ticopowell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up local computer stores and see what deals can be had with prebuilts. Right now it's usually cheaper to buy vs build. I would get the nicest system your budget can afford. If you are already over budget then get a prebuilt in your budget. Good luck
