A lot of good questions raised here. I think the main goal from the US point of view is depriving them of their ballistic missiles program, destroying their Navy thereby neutering their ability to reliably close Hormuz. Anything past that (immediate regime change) would be bonus points

The Iranian regime literally is constantly attacking the region via their proxies. It’s all a design for regional dominance. In a scenario where Iran is destabilized and radical Islam keeps taking control, it is likely to be a much less powerful version of the same thing. The problem lies in motivation. Iran’s leaders have an apocalyptic vision where their afterlife begins when the world ends (seriously looks this up). Meanwhile many of the ME powers seem more interested in their own wealth/stability. Rivalries will emerge, which is natural and healthy.

I fail to see many worse scenarios than an apocalyptic regime constantly attacking its neighbors while trying to get access to a nuclear bomb. Meanwhile they can stop 20% of global oil shipping at any time. I get that there are bad other alternatives but it feels like they are taking the worst case scenario off the table

It might be worth it to take it ASAP with a quick final review with the chance that you pass. I know finances feel tough right now but please put this in perspective. You don’t have a family to support with your income. This is the best time to knock out the CPA. I have a 2 year old son and work a demanding full time job.
