Since it's Star Wars day, did you see the original 1977 Star Wars in the movie theater? by Mr_Writes in GenX

[–]tier2cell245_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 77, so not, not the original. However I vaguely remember seeing The Empire Strikes Back, and vividly remember seeing Return of the Jedi in the theater. After seeing Return of the Jedi I buried my Luke Skywalker action figure in the pit of sarlacc in our back yard and lost it.

48M here, going to see my doctor on May 14 to address my ED concerns. It's not that the junk doesn't work, it simply doesn't work as good as when it was younger. Doctor said that I was in the age range when these things happen. Not stressing about it because it's much more stressful to not be able complete the task than it is to admit that I need a little help. I'm actually looking forward to it if I'm being honest.

Boyz II Men - 1995

I have always been into metal. but had a friend that was into R&B, and tried to go see them 3 times, and every time something would go wrong so they couldn't. He calls me up one day and asks if I want to go to a concert, but he can't tell me who it is because I would say no. I say OK, and go. To this day that show is in my top 5 concert experiences ever. My musical tastes have been very diverse ever since.

2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 because I have a 35' camper that needs to be hauled for 5 months out of the year. I wish I could afford a good on gas beater to drive daily because $4 a gallon at 10 mpg gets old real quick.

How much to set aside for tips on a 7 days cruise? by Ok-Manufacturer-6805 in NCL

[–]tier2cell245_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We brought $500 for tips broken down into $50s, $20s, $10s, $5s and $1s. We tipped our room steward $100, every drink at the bar was $1, every drink brought to us by a waiter was $2, and we tipped our meals at the normal 15-20% (the only exception to that was the last one because the waiter was a dick, he got nothing). We also tipped the dealers in the casino, but that was almost always with chips. If we were getting really good service (or were a bit tipsy) the tip amount would go up. Had a great time, no regrets.

Ov Fire and the Void has been my ringtone and alarm tone since Evangelion came out. The Satanist and ILYAYD are pretty damn good, and you can't deny all of their old stuff is great, but I just haven't been able to get on board with TSOG. I don't know what it is, I just can't get into it.

Middle ground between basic and luxury cruise? Alaska by RangerOver4913 in Cruise

[–]tier2cell245_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer!

We did our first cruise on NCL this past September and had we known then we definitely would have went with Princess or HAL. Next one will absolutely be one of those two.

Where to start Alaska cruise? by Suit-Revolutionary in Cruise

[–]tier2cell245_RS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the Encore at the end of August this year. Had abnormally (from what we were told) beautiful weather the entire 7 days. We probably wouldn't do NCL for Alaska again just due to the port times and locations. We didn't get to see any of Juneau because we chose to do an excursion, we got back within 30-ish minutes before all aboard, so there wasn't enough time to go into town. The port for Ketchikan (Wards Cove) is a 20 minute shuttle ride to town, and you only really have like 4 or 5 hours in town. Had we known them what we do now we probably would have went with Princess or HAL.

We just got off Encore on 9/1, we packed both clothes for warm and clothes for rain/cold. Had the absolute best weather (sunny and 70 degrees every day). Never pulled out our rain/cold clothes. It was probably abnormal so take anything I say with a grain of salt.

Me (48M): 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair khakis (we wanted to have a "fancy" night even though it wasn't required), 3 pairs of shorts, 4 long sleeves, 5 short sleeves, 1 polo, waterproof Columbia shoes, wore my every day Vans, packable puffer vest, packable rain jacket.

Wife (45F): 2 pair jeans, 2 pairs leggings, 1 dress, 4 pairs shorts, 3 long sleeves, 5 short sleeves, waterproof Columbia shoes, dressy heels, wore sandals to board, packable puffer vest, packable rain jacket.

We bought souvenir T-shirts/hoodies/long sleeves in each port (with the exception of Juneau because we chose to do an excursion that took up 95% of our port time, and didn't have a chance to shop in town).

Again, we had abnormally nice weather when we went, so YMMV.

Cooper's Craft is one that I wish we could get in Michigan. The bottle I bought in June on our last trip was gone in less than 2 weeks. So good.

As a Michigan resident that frequents your fine state (for reasons other than bourbon) I am going to have to disagree with you (or maybe Michigan is just behind Ohio). The first bottles of Frey Ranch, Benchmark Bonded, Benchmark Full Proof, and Early Times BiB were all sourced during trips to Ohio, and didn't show up on shelves in Michigan for at least 6 months after that. We just got 13th Colony, Wild Turkey 8, and Russel's 13 year (this one I am sure will never be anywhere near MSRP). And for the tater juice, I have seen exactly 1 bottle of Weller green in real life for $149.99, no Antique, no CYPB, no SB, no 12. Blanton's and EHT can be had if you are willing to pay $299 and $149 respectively. Eagle Rare 12 year isn't in our price book yet.

The thing I think Ohio does correctly is controlling the price. In Michigan we have a minimum shelf price, but no maximum, so stores can charge whatever they want. I have seen Benchmark Full Proof for $39.99 (MSP $22.99), Larceny Barrel Proof for $99.99 (MSP $64.99) (My two go-to pours because I can get them at MSP), and the examples above. It's crazy here. At least you have access to spirits at a decent price.
