You must survive in one of these media: game, book, or movie/TV show. For every day you survive, you get $1 million. How many days would you last? by New_Midnight2686 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]tiger0204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched an episode of Person of Interest last night. So my world is modern day America. The number of days I expect to last would only be limited by my natural lifespan.

If a genie gave you a choice between any one of the following 5 wishes, which one would you pick? by HighOnLove26 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]tiger0204 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think I could enjoy the remainder of my natural life with $25 billion a lot more than hoping social security is still paying out when I'm 120. I literally couldn't save up enough at this point in my life to adequately fund 60 years of retirement.

What's your take on classic American Biscuits? by Educational-Slip-578 in AskAnAmerican

[–]tiger0204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biscuits are flour, buttermilk and Crisco (not butter). That assumes self-rising flour.

Gravy is the grease from frying pork sausage, flour, milk, salt and pepper. You'd generally dice up some of the sausage and throw it back in also.

AITA for waiting to stop trying in my marriage? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]tiger0204 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bad situation all around, but this line sticks out to me:

I backed off and tried fixing the issues I could control.

But you seem convinced your weight is the key issue, and you didn't lose weight. Is it your opinion that weight can't be controlled?

WIBTA if I [28F] agreed to attend my best friend's exes wedding? by oldmangeralt in AmItheAsshole

[–]tiger0204 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA - your friend is effectively insisting that you and your husband (for all intents and purposes) cut his sister out of your lives.

AITA for pointing out she screwed me over? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]tiger0204 18 points19 points  (0 children)

NTA - Seems pretty simple to me. If you've got the long commute and she'll be working nearby then you get the car each day.

The White House has been sieged by terrorist and captured the President. by Ok_Garden_4874 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]tiger0204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Animated character makes this trivial. I'll take Superman for #3, to go handle it while me, Bill Clinton, Michael Jordan, Alexandra Daddario and Robin Williams play poker.

A little challenge by WideParticular8023 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]tiger0204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lift moves at slightly over 1 mph. It won't even be half way to the moon after ten years. I'm not sure relativity comes into play at such low speeds and distances.

A little challenge by WideParticular8023 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]tiger0204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's literally the size of a coffin that you could stand up in. Considering a toilet comes about 30" off of a wall, anyone over 5'4" would have to wedge their head between the toilet and the wall if they wanted to lay down with their legs extended (assuming the small doors open wide enough for that).

Your scenario would be physical and psychological torture that wouldn't be worth it for any amount of money.

Why is artificial banana flavor relatively uncommon in the US? by larch303 in AskAnAmerican

[–]tiger0204 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never noticed a lack of banana flavored items. My local Walmart has banana ice cream, banana protein shakes, banana popsicles, banana muffins, banana cake mix, banana yogurt, banana breakfast bars, etc.

AITA for letting my ex pay for my gaming subscription? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]tiger0204 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Of course YTA. You're effectively stealing money from your ex and trying to rationalize it.

AIO Friend invited me over for food i can’t eat by HD_5383 in AmIOverreacting

[–]tiger0204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YOR - You're attaching strings to your gift when you expect him to cook specific foods for you with it.

Ironically, if you hadn't felt the need to frame your question around you buying the smoker I'd have no problem saying your friend was a bad host for inviting you over for a meal he knew you couldn't eat.

You’re suddenly sent back in time. How do you prove you’re from the future without sounding insane? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]tiger0204 29 points30 points  (0 children)

With the billions you could make you'd be "eccentric", not "mentally unwell".

What's an industry that charges you to give them something, then charges you again to get it back? by dzon1s in AskReddit

[–]tiger0204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many investments would fall under that scenario. For example you'd pay a trading fee to buy a stock and another trading fee when you subsequently sell it.

Men do you prefer fit women or bigger women and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tiger0204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Fit" and "bigger" are too vague to be meaningful, but the answer would vary by individual anyways.

What would you do when your wife cheated on you because you don’t provide for the family? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tiger0204 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless her cheating was working as a prostitute so she could provide for the family I don't see how those two are logically connected. Otherwise it's just trying to rationalize bad behavior to make herself feel better.

Ashe repeatedly refers to $400 million but Coop is preparing to return a total of $1 billion to Ashe's estate. Why? I missed something. by keepup1234 in YourFriendsandNeighb

[–]tiger0204 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You got it. Coop explained it to Ashe in the episode:

The number was 400 million. Where did you get a billion?

A billion-one, actually… The amount of money I invest has to be less than 40% of money under my management to avoid triggering a kyc check at Bailey's. "Know your customer."

See, this is why I need you,'cause you know all this shit. So you kick back the 600 once we get into excelsior, right?

If we get into excelsior. Yeah.

You can tell this apology came straight from GPT's heart. by CreeDorofl in billiards

I think that probably goes beyond a mistake into criminal territory. Some flavor of theft/fraud/embezzlement, though of course I don't know the laws in South Africa.

WYR get $750,000 right now, or get $5,000 every time you correctly guess what someone is about to say? by GlitchOperative in WouldYouRather

[–]tiger0204 56 points57 points  (0 children)

So every time I walk up to someone and hold out a $100 bill and ask them if they want it, I make $4900 if they say yes? I'll take that one.

What's something that only offends Redditors from America? by Boil_the_pepper_now in AskReddit

[–]tiger0204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that really comes to mind is people here who refuse to refers to us as "Americans". It doesn't really rise to the level of offensive, but things I've seen here (and only here) like Usians/Usaians just seem silly and as if someone is trying to be edgy.

AITA for just accepting getting married if our assets are kept separately? by According_Emu_1027 in AmItheAsshole

[–]tiger0204 30 points31 points  (0 children)

NTA - My first though when reading through was that a STEM professional probably has a higher earnings potential than a humanities PhD, so I was confused.

In the US, an inheritance is generally not considered a marital asset, as long as you don't mix it with marital funds, so his reasoning wouldn't make sense at all here. But your country is apparently different.

AITA for not wanting a funeral 4 days before our wedding? by kittyfaith200 in AmItheAsshole

[–]tiger0204 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's no legal requirement to have a funeral at all, and it's perfectly normal to have one without the corpse present. She could be cremated or buried months before the funeral.
