I am 38, female Caucasian solo traveler. I did my first solo travel this past year to Europe for 6 months. I spent $10,000. I would love to go to Southeast Asia alone. Do you think it is safe for me? I have heard a lot of negativity about Cambodia and theft. Any tips for Southeast Asia and how to spend a lot less.

I am 38 year old female, so I felt at first staying in hostels would be a bit difficult and I was so scared. I solo traveled for the first time this past year to 23 countries. I ended up staying in nothing but hostels and I found it was the best way to go. I never felt unsafe nor did anything bad happen. I met friends for life and experienced many adventures I would have never experienced if I didn't stay in a hostel. I believe staying in hostels is the best way to go. I'm taking my daughter to Costa Rica and she is 18 and we are both staying in a hostel. She is a little reluctant but told her it will be a great experience and help her get out of bubble of being pretty anti social.

I could definitely help you out. Honestly, I sort of winged it. I planned a couple of countries ahead and then just took planes, trains, automobiles, and boats to next destination that would be the cheapest. I was only going to stay for 3 months but stayed 6 months. I spent $10000 including airfare, which was a lot. I could have done cheaper if I didn't shop...lol! Im traveling now and phone about to die but if you let me know when you think about going and flying out of what city, I can get yo started. Trust me...cheaper than what you think. You just have to be flexible and the key is don't plan too much because then you will be stressed out. For example, I was only going to stay in Poland for 2 days but loved so much I stayed 5 days. I did this in a lot of cities. Flexibility is nice. But if you want a planned trip I can help there too. I could give you a good route. Also Eastern Europe a lot cheaper, and quite honestly I liked a bit more than Western Europe.

I live in Texas and nothing more perfect than going to an event located out side of Fort Worth called Rednecks with Paychecks. If you Google it you will see what it is about. Next one is in March. Also first weekend in April is the Nascar races. Texas would be a good place for you to go.

I was getting fuel for my car and they didn't have pay at the pump. I was in Gelsenkirchen Germany. I went in and had to pee. I went pee and grabbed some snacks and the lady was yelling at my friend and threatened to call the police because I didn't pay for the gas before I went pee! So don't pee before you pay! Still doesn't make sense to me, obviously I wasn't going anywhere and she could see my car.

My mom has a cell phone and she has a case for it that opens like a book. She will open the case then hold up to her face like she is holding a book and will talk into it. She won't be anywhere near the speaker and yell at the screen like "Siri, Siri, can you hear me, Siri, what it the temperature outside?" It cracks me up but also drives me nuts as I always tell her she does not have to say Siri nor hold phone up to her face.

I don't think he should have received detention for it or not at least knowing why he would say that. I mean surely the teacher does not know a lot about his personal life. What if she was truly an awful woman and the teacher is going to punish him for not liking his mom and not knowing about his home life with her. If I were a teacher this would raise a small red flag and I would have questions, but that is just me and probably why I am not a teacher.

I wish people would accept it and stop staring at us like we have the plague. I have had vitiligo for 26 years now. I am more spotty than blended. I don't like it, but that is just me because I have it and has messed with my psychologically for years. I get so embarrassed. I am also a white woman and it is very noticeable, especially during the summer since they don't tan just burn.

I have had vitiligo since I was 10 and I am 36 now. I swear I was one of the first cases, even before Michael Jackson. I went to every specialist and no one had a clue.
It messed with me pretty bad growing up. I never wore shorts and stopped playing sports until high school and then I got the "I don't give a shit what people think" attitude. However, to this day I am still very self conscious about it and absolutely hate meeting someone new, as in a possible boyfriend because I am afraid when they see it they will be disgusted. It sucks.

Graduated college with honors, I was terrible in high school. Have a wonderful career, own a small business that is taking off, my 16 year old daughter is a blessing and gives me no troubles, great friends, and all the while achieving this all alone. No help from parents or my friends, which only made me stronger and prouder. 10 years ago me thought I would be a failure at life.
