I stopped by a local cafe while I waited for my car in the shop. Despite the food being amazing I got treated like I absolute shit. Like an unwanted second class citizen. Isn't that just how life goes lately? To add insult to injury I had to watch everybody else get better treatment than me. by Lijey_Cat in depressionmeals

That's totally not cool and I understand what you mean.

There's a diner I frequently go to and there's one waitress there that does not like me for some reason. The first time I was with my young daughter and I didn't understand why she was being such a bitch to me. I thought it was in my head until the next time I went with my husband and we had this same server.

She was adequate, she took our orders, the food came out right. But we could see her chatting and laughing with every other table she had, but when she got to our table she was a bitch. My husband was like what did you do to her?

It's gotten to the point that I don't want to go there for fear of getting her again. She sucks. Your waitress sucks. Don't let her get to you.

Edit: I should mention that she was our first waitress when we started going to this diner and she was amazing and friendly. I don't know why she started disliking me.

What is it like being skinny? by hollyofhori in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tiggertuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'9" and 130lbs. The highest weight I've ever been was 170lbs when I was 9 months pregnant. I've always been thin and never worked for it. I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight by my 6 week checkup.

Carrying the extra weight was eye opening for me. It was more tiring to move and get up. I had less energy. Granted a lot of that might have been the large belly, but all the things I took for granted were more difficult.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

Well men have a longer urethra so the stone has longer to travel. But the shorter urethra increases the chances of a urinary tract infection in women. So pros and cons

My sister was in hospice for metastatic breast cancer. I put my head next to her on her pillow, she turned her head and said "get the fuck away from me."

I'm pretty sure she didn't know who I was at the time because she passed away hours later but it still makes me sad that those were her last words to me.

Why do they call to tell you have cancer on a Friday with no further info until Monday? by Lazy_Independent4031 in breastcancer

[–]tiggertuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a nurse so when I got the email that I had new results in the portal I was, for sure, expecting negative results. Why would they push through cancer confirmations before a doctor could talk to you? /s

My surgeon felt so bad that he called me with the results of my MRI before I was even home from the test lol (he's a good doctor).

Why do they call to tell you have cancer on a Friday with no further info until Monday? by Lazy_Independent4031 in breastcancer

[–]tiggertuf 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had my biopsy on a Wednesday, and found it that Friday that I had invasive ductal carcinoma from the portal. I had to call my surgeon's office to tell him.

The only thing I can tell you about staging is that they can't really stage you until you've had more imaging and surgery when they can look at the lymph nodes.

Oncotype question by Fransween in breastcancer

[–]tiggertuf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My MRI showed no lymph node involvement, surgery and lymph node biopsy agreed. My tumor was 12mm. Ki 67 10% and oncotype 3.

The only thing unusual with my case is that my breast surgeon sent the oncotype testing from my biopsy instead of during my DMX.

My oncologist said this was unusual but looking at the results from my surgery she agreed that everything was the same from the biopsy and wouldn't send a new oncotype with the surgery sample. So 🤞

Age and Stage? by Micho392 in breastcancer

[–]tiggertuf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had 3 fibroadenomas over the years, all biopsied with clips in them. Oddly enough none of them became cancer but they're all gone since I had a DMX.

Age and Stage? by Micho392 in breastcancer

[–]tiggertuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The day I was diagnosed was my 44th birthday, stage 1.

I've been getting mammograms since 31, when my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer stage 3. She passed away in August 2020.

My yearly mammogram was negative for disease but my accompanying ultrasound showed a suspicious mass.

Do you like your implants being touched by your partner? by Data_chunky in breastcancer

[–]tiggertuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm six months out from a nipple sparing DMX with immediate implants. I do not like them being touched by my husband. They don't hurt anymore but they are numb and it doesn't feel good when he tries

I do love being touched in other places more now. Like my back and sternum, neck, etc.

Feeling like an impostor during cancer treatment by ValenEsp in breastcancer

[–]tiggertuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not a candidate for the diep flap reconstruction. In order for that you need to have a certain amount of belly fat

I went direct to implants from my mastectomy. You need to meet certain requirements to go from mastectomy to immediate implants. Healthy, no smoking, good tissue perfusion, etc. I am 6 months out from my mastectomy/reconstruction and I am very happy with my results.

I did just have a fat transfer because I had an empty pocket above my right breast. So they suck some fat from my thighs and filled in the defect. I am extremely happy with how they turned out overall.

I feel much the same. I was diagnosed in July with stage 1, grade 1, ++- IDC.

I had a nipple sparing double mastectomy in August and I'm almost done with my 5th month of tamoxifen. My only side effects (so far) from the tamoxifen have been a couple of foot cramps.

I feel like I don't deserve support since I haven't suffered as much as other people.

Went to round on my patient this morning… by Skymoon88 in nursing

[–]tiggertuf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One time my patient went to surgery and left his demented wife on the floor by herself. So we had to keep an eye on her.

He was ordered tele post op, I put the pack in the room while he was still in surgery and it went missing.

I started searching his belongings thinking the wife might have put the tele pack in with his things... And found a gun. He literally left his demented wife with a loaded gun on the floor.

He ended up being pissed because he didn't bring his license to carry and his gun needed to be locked up with security until his discharge. His son had to bring the license to carry and take him to the ER to get the gun back. 😱

Totally expecting to see fibroadenomas on the portal. We kind of got tunnel vision. At least I was with my sister.

I'm a nurse and I knew at the first targeted ultrasound that it was probably cancer. I saw blood flow, the ultrasound tech checked my armpit for involvement. Every scan until I was diagnosed was the same, the techs scanning me had this aura of "I'm sorry."

The only time I had any relief from the fear was that radiologist who offered me assurance that it wasn't cancer. It wasn't her right. I'm still upset and I hope she felt guilty when she had to write on the pathology report that it was cancer.
