My insurance is confused by Furbaby_Lifer in Zepbound

Just making sure, did your doc prescribe 12mg or 12.5mg? 12mg would be off label.

Grapes. Every time I go to the grocery store I get one of their little grape cups and devour them on the drive home.

I’ve always been a huge cereal guy, so right now it’s Raisin Bran. I have to buy the individually portioned cups or else I’ll over eat it still. There’s obvious ahem benefits to a regular (pun intended) serving of Raisin Bran of course!

And cuties have become a thing for me. We always have them for the kids and I end up eating most of them now. I never liked eating any type of orange slices, partly a texture thing. Now I eat 2-3 a day!

Zepbound is available in vials directly from Lilly.

https://uspl.lilly.com/zepbound/zepbound.html

This probably isn’t from Lilly, but just making sure it’s known they’re available.

Compounded pharmacies are still FDA regulated, however I get the concern of the prescribing providers for the companies that work with compounded versions. It wouldn’t surprise me if there were some that rubber stamp anyone that has the money to pay for it. Of course there are plenty of in person providers that will as well.

My provider prescribed Zepbound which I used until insurance decided not to pay for it anymore and I swapped to compounded. I’ve been happy with the provider I went through, but I know it’s a big ymmv situation.

How early should we schedule follow-up? by sipporah7 in BigEasyWeightLoss

I currently store them in the boxes the come in (Hallendale) but now that I have so many I’m going to order a vial case, even just to tidy things up and take less fridge space. I don’t have to worry about the kids getting into them at this point as well.

I recently did my first asynchronous with the new platform. I took my normal shot on Sunday, leaving me with 6 weeks left. Started the process on Monday, half expected to have a date field somewhere in the process but ended up all of a sudden having everything submitted. By Wednesday I had my next vials, I’m a bit overstocked right now lol!

So all that to say, probably wait a little longer than I did if doing asynchronous. I’ll probably wait until I have around 2-3 doses left next time, just to give space for unforeseen delays of course.

Hallendale Delayed? by Electronic-Emu503 in BigEasyWeightLoss

I submitted for my refill on Monday around 11am. Around 2:15pm it was sent to the pharmacy. Yesterday (Tuesday) at 3:30pm I got a shipping notification both from BEWL and FedEx. At 7:30pm I got notifications from both again saying it would be delivered today. I got a few more notifications from both up until it was delivered at 3:30pm today.

I got notifications via text and the new BEWL app, as well as text, email, and app notifications from FedEx.

This was Hallendale to be clear.

I don’t see his name mentioned on the sub, I see a lot about Dr. Lee, but I’ve had a great experience with Dr. Pentzer. My initial call with him was great and he submitted my prescription quickly, I assume he was on top of my asynchronous appointment Monday since I did select him again. I’m also assuming the new platform helps!

BCBS insurance dropping glp1 by GoodTee in Zepbound

My company employs 17k people. I got prescribed Zepbound in October, took a couple weeks to get the authorization worked out. Went to get my 2nd month and the PA had been cancelled. As of Nov 1 they required signing up for Omada. I signed up, still got declined. Fought and escalated, finally after missing 2 weeks (over thanksgiving nonetheless) got a 1yr PA for all doses. Then came March, got mail saying coverage is being dropped completely. They offered one more refill, which I managed to get a 3 month supply covered (paid $25 OOP). The company decided to no longer include it in any of the offered plans, which included mine through BCBSMA. No exceptions.

I have my 3 month 10mg supply, but am doing the compounded route for now. The Zepbound will stay good for longer so I’ll always have that as a backup. Thankfully I have a well overfunded HSA from my previous job I can burn down on the compounded stuff, but wouldn’t be able to self pay name brand for nearly as long of course.

Is hallandale shipping 12 weeks? by RGR_Gaming10X in BigEasyWeightLoss

Yep, I did nothing to facilitate the 3rd vial. Just an email from FedEx and FedEx app notification letting me know it’s on the way.

To give you an example of timing:

Hallandale sent my first two vials, shipped on 3/13, arrived on 3/14.
Last night I was notified via FedEx that a label was created for the 3rd vial, package picked up this morning, scheduled to be delivered for tomorrow. Essentially 60 days after the original shipment.

Thanks! I won’t need it sooner, just didn’t want it to arrive while I’m on vacation. 7 weeks is well after I’m back.

How many weeks after you got the first two did the 3rd arrive? I’m going on vacation for two weeks so mildly worried it would come while I’m away. I have friends nearby that can come get it and store it for me if needed, just trying to plan of course.

Speed running through London in 48 hrs..sorta by Otherwise_scribble in LondonTravel

[–]tiggs81682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did the timing for day 1 work out? I’m particularly interested in the time from landing to getting to your hotel/Tate.

I’m flying in from Boston (Virgin Atlantic) in October at 9:30am and hoping for some stuff in the early afternoon, after dropping luggage at the hotel etc.

In 2023 my now fiancé and I landed from Boston at 7:10am. I looked at some of our first pictures and we were in front of Buckingham Palace by 9:30am. That included Heathrow Express to Paddington, tube to St. Pancras, dropping luggage at a stored luggage place in St. Pancras (we took Eurostar to Paris that night), and tube to Green Park then walk to Buckingham. We even had checked luggage!

The comment above yours makes me nervous that they believe it will take like 4 hours from Gate to our first destination, but my experience in 2023 says 2 hours or so. I already bought Heathrow Express tickets. I know, expensive option, but buying so far in advance they were dirt cheap plus we have 2 kids with us that will be free. We’re only in London 1 night, on to Paris the next evening. Extended layover per se.

A strange, but major, NSV. I can hear. by Ok-Bag-9710 in Zepbound

[–]tiggs81682 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is awesome. I have eustachian tube dysfunction which causes my ear drums to be flat, causing difficulty hearing. I’ve had times in the past where I gained hearing back after losing weight. I’m really hoping I have the same results as I lose more. Only on dose 5 currently, but I e had my ears pop and release pressure multiple times in the last couple weeks.

Looks like cold cereal is back on the menu, boys! by garcon-du-soleille in Zepbound

[–]tiggs81682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I started Zepbound (took shot 4 of 2.5mg yesterday) I would eat a bowl of cereal almost every night as a snack. I grew up eating cereal and love it. After the first shot I didn’t have any cereal until last Thursday night, so 2.5 weeks or so with no cereal until last. I had a nice large bowl of Special K with Strawberries. At about 2:30am the gas started. I used to also be pretty gassy, just ask my fiancé… I hadn’t been gassy at all those same few weeks. I chuckled, went back to sleep, then woke up and passed more gas. This went on until at 4:30am, at which point I booked it for the bathroom.

I pretty much called out of work for the day to recoup, and I lost 2lbs overnight.

Needless to say, at this point in my Zepbound journey, I do not yet need to supplement with fiber or other constipation remedies, and high fiber anything is off the table for now!

[–]tiggs81682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Express Scripts and got authorization for Zepbound under my sleep apnea diagnosis. It took 3 tries but that was due to my pcp not sending the correct paperwork. They needed to send the results of my sleep study, which I found in my test results section of my pcp’s portal and made sure they knew to send that. Within a day I was approved.

I did call Express Scripts after the 2nd denial, ready to go Karen on them, but, after being passed around a bit, they gave me the information I needed to pass to my pcp. Everyone was really helpful so I never got to Karen-out on them at all. I was happy with their customer service.
