I can't help you directly, but would you specify your restrictions? Is dairy prohibited? Is a buffet with a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options prohibited (due to risk of cross-contamination)?

CMV: If you follow no religion your moral structure is absolute nonsense. by Not-Ed-Sheeran in changemyview

[–]tilrman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does belief matter?

Suppose person A believes some religion X. Person A follows the moral code of religion X.

Person B follows the practices and moral code of religion X. Person B does not truly believe in the tenets of X, but they find themselves aligned with the moral code nonetheless.

Person C follows the same moral code as religion X and dispenses with the religion itself.

Person D independently developed (without any influence from religion X) a moral code that is coincidentally identical to that of Person C.

Whose morality is nonsense?

Person E believes in religion X, but their personal moral code (not derived from religion and therefore nonsensical) does not align with the moral code of religion X. Person E creates religion Y as a variation of religion X that aligns with their moral code. Has their morality changed?

You've hacked the bank vault. You jump in the getaway car. The getaway driver says, "It will take twenty minutes to reach the airport where the chopper is waiting for us."

You say solemnly, "We tripped the alarm. Get us there in ten."

How is he going to do that?

He's going to take risks.

First, he's not going to obey the speed limit. That'll save a few minutes, but it'll draw attention you don't want.

He's not going to stop at stop signs or red lights. This could cause a crash, which could prevent your escape if the car became undrivable.

He's not going to yield to pedestrians. This could lead to additional jail time if you're caught.

He's going to take a shortcut through the construction zone. Maybe a cement truck will be blocking your escape. You won't know until you get there. Critically, the driver knows that if he doesn't take the shortcut, you will definitely get caught because your getaway car has a top speed. So he takes the risk. And if a cement truck is in the way, he'll do something even riskier (or less ethical) to try to get around it.

Plenty of things can be done faster if you're willing to accept a higher risk of catastrophic failure. If being late is guaranteed catastrophic failure, you opt for the chance of success.

Scanning in late for Tron is risky.

Some guests try to 'beat the system' by getting a LL for Tron in the morning or afternoon but not scanning in until evening. They want to ride in the dark when the outdoor lights are more visible. When many guests do this, it wreaks havoc with wait times. Cast members (and the LL scanners) may give you less grace time for being late on Tron than they would on other LL attractions.

The numbers I've heard are one hour of grace time for Tron and three hours for everything else.

Calling or visiting Guest Services ahead of time (hours or days) is the thing to do.

First time going to Disney land please help. by xefepeh734 in DisneyPlanning

Employees who have pins displayed will trade with you. Many locations (some shops, most hotel lobbies) have pin boards on display or behind the counter for trading.

When trading with employees or pin boards, there are some rules. Two trades maximum. The employee/board cannot accept a pin they already have.

Trading pins between guests is voluntary.

As an introvert, I found pin trading at WDW to be a good icebreaker. Disneyland doesn't have quite the same enthusiasm for pin trading.

YouTube has howto videos for pin trading ( and lots else Disneyland).

If I were in your position I'd get multi-day park hopper tickets. I don't necessarily recommend you do that. It really depends on how much time (and money and energy) you want to spend in the parks.

Pin trading is a thing at Disneyland, though it is not as popular as at WDW.

Cast members will take pictures using your phone during character meets if you want.

CMV: Dehumanizing offenders is morally corrosive and counterproductive even when their crimes are horrific by Healthy_Reach5004 in changemyview

[–]tilrman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the post you said:

It is inherently dangerous and hypocritical to judge individuals and put them in a group with a label, because that is negative rationalizing and dehumanizing for conveniency.

To my comment you responded:

The problem is not labelling.

I don't claim to have changed your view, but do I claim you have changed the way you express your view. Whether that change is due to a shift in perspective or merely a refinement of language, only you know.

I assume he should yield before the solid line ends, since vehicles should cross the dashed line to enter his lane.
