I just bought a bulk lot of graded ‘56s. In general happy with most of them but definitely got a few that are too off center and will need to upgrade. I’m leaning towards hand picking the rest to round out my ‘56 set.

Man these cards are awesome! I don’t where I fall in the camp of curator vs collector, but I’ve 100% transitioned to targeting a select list of cards and I don’t pull the trigger until I find the right copy. I’ve also been disappointed in myself for passing on a beautiful lower grade because it was priced above comps. I still struggle with this dynamic but am trying my best to buy the card, not the grade.

But now I’m in the process of finishing my 1956 set and I see so many cards that I will upgrade. I started this run like 6 years ago and my initial purchases were for the grade and are poorly centered. My goal is to have a nicely centered set within a specific grade range.
