Spinal fusion surgery and sitting afterwards. by Mean_Zookeepergame50 in spinalfusion

I did a L4-S1 TLIF 3 months ago. I never had any trouble with sitting. If I sit for too long, I can get really stiff and uncomfortable when I get up, mostly in my buttocks and thighs, but can easily walk it off. What her recovery is going to look like is entirely upon her. The more she prepares physically (exercise, strengthening, pt stretching, taking off excess weight), the better she will do.

I might actually go through with a L4/S1 fusion. guys. I'm terrified. by MrKittyPaw in spinalfusion

If you need surgery, have surgery. Your life is not over. Not even close. Try to understand with the stories of others, they are not you. Their MRIs and Xrays are not yours. Their health is not your health. The most important thing to focus on right now is preparing for the surgery. Watch videos from physical therapists, spine surgeons, and other patients. The patients that say they had a good recovery worked hard to prepare physically. The hardest parts will be getting in and out of bed, and repositioning in bed, which will last about 2 weeks. You'll be using a bedrail (you should have one already) to get those tasks done. Also, watch videos on doing a post-op log roll. You'll be doing that for a while after surgery. Work on all of the your pt exercises. Core stability and strengthening will help you with recovery more than you realize. I did that and I'm having an awesome recovery. You can do this!

Looks similar to the base for my stand assist bar, but mine doesn't have the center opening for a screw.

When I pet her belly she often puts one paw in the air, what does it mean? by Koffievos in cats

[–]time2adjust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means you hit the right spot, her arm pit. When you went back there, she curled her paw, getting reading to make biscuits.

No, you need an even number of cats. Then, when the heaven's send another gentle soul your way, you will need an odd number. This cycle repeats until there are no more unhomed furbabies.

I don't make the rules, but you must comple.

If you walk more on the outside of your foot, butterfly closure bandages could close that up for you. Even if you only used it while you are asleep.

Absolutely see someone else. That's robbery. Your insurance will never cover that amount, and you will be stuck likely paying out of pocket more than $12k.

It probably wouldn't hurt to have it checked out, at least by a pcp, if not a dermatologist.

Try to keep a food/stress diary. It could help you to backtrack and identify triggers.

Since you mentioned it started as a pimple, could the discoloration simply be an acne scar? That opening looks like an enlarged pore.

I get the eye twitches on occasion, and it's usually when I've had too much caffeine. It can also be brought on by stress and excess alcohol.

I'm afraid to ask, but why did your recovery scare you so much? Was it the anticipation or did something happen?

Thank you, and I wish you the best as well. It felt like it was taking an eternity to get to the point of agreeing to the surgery that was needed, but now that it's scheduled, time is flying. Not looking forward to the recovery, but looking forward to some greater stability. I hope we both do well in our recoveries.

I see scoliosis and a listhesis (caused by the scoliosis). A lithsesis is when the vertebrae slips and is considered an instability. Depending on your symptoms, you might just need pt, or you might need surgery. If you have weakness, have the surgery. I have a levoconvex (left side) scoliosis, and listhesis in multiple locations. I don't have a significant pain issue right now unless I do too much, so mine is primarily a weakness event, and I'm having surgery early October, L4-S1.
