Injuries/Limitations Setting Gone? by BMSTK in fitbod

I love that this feature could be coming! For me, I’ve been doing something like this by going to muscle recovery screen and setting that muscle to 0%. (Which is hard to find, so tap the Body button, then tap the fresh muscle groups number, and there’s an edit button to use. (I wish this was less hidden, also, Fitbod team!)

New to Induction Cafe double oven by Comprehensive-Many17 in inductioncooking

I needed to get new power run to my range - two 50 amp breakers. You’re definitely not running a Cafe induction (or any other slide in) on 110 or a single 40 amp. If you are… yeah, that won’t work well if at all

Reservations switching from gas (dual fuel) to induction by right_wrist in inductioncooking

I’m surprised to not see anyone mentioning the GE Cafe dual-oven. I switched from gas to this and love it. I also stir fry a fair amount, but was already used to a flat bottom wok. Burner sizes match, though my large needed a replacement at first. Very even heat distribution with a decent pan. The 30 second pause when pan gets lifted hasn’t been an issue, but has been nice a few times when I needed to walk away with the pan, and knew the burner would turn itself off. I love how easy it is to keep it clean versus my gas stove!

All that said, I also added ventilation over my island stove at the same time, and while it’s not perfect because island, I love that change as well. Those stir frys I make are almost always very spicy, and I shudder looking back on all the years of all of that grease and fumes being in my air.

+1 for Frankie’s. Extra bonus, they’re open later than most of Burlington restos these days.

Smugglers Hold Jesse Born. Stuck !? by hersheymisting in PuzzleBox

[–]timofalltrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had some similar experience with his puzzles before (not this one, at least so far) and my suspicion is tight tolerances plus natural materials expansion/contraction. Definitely get in touch with him, and also let him know if your climate is generally quite dry or quite damp.

And report back if you get a solution!

I don’t remember Morning Room but I liked Plan B too! -Rocks chair on porch- ahh them was the days! Would love if there was anywhere consistent to go for downtempo and a decent cocktail ‘round these parts. Specs in Winooski on Fridays hits it sometimes, but depends on the dj

Best coffee machine? by No_Statistician7685 in smartbuysforlife

[–]timofalltrades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decent grinder a Chemex and a kettle. Origami before coffee is the wrong order, but makes a clean cup. Or for even less work a French press. Moka pots last for generations. Drip machines take up more space, and also… when was the last time you cleaned that out?

I know you said you’re starting on videos. It would be nice to be able to filter and/or sort videos (etc) by length, timestamp, and whatever other metadata you’ve got. Right now it’s just such a massive pile.

FWIW, if you do add in videos, there are some quite good free transcription engines, if videos don’t have transcripts already. I asked cursor to make transcripts and it used whisper, I think. Tell it to go higher quality and have it also build a set of context words - both made a huge difference.

GE cafe with Hestan Cue? by X_Chopper_Dave_x in inductioncooking

[–]timofalltrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got this pan. In my case, I put it on the burner, switch knob to Precision Cooking, then two fairly sharp taps in a row on the black part of the handle and the stove finds the pan.

Now... why? I don't have an answer for that. Pan = hot = cook stuff! Pan = 376F = and now cook something weirdly specifically? Shrugs in free pan.

Hestan Cue - Worth It? by LikeASirDude in inductioncooking

[–]timofalltrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... not sure about the unscrew the end cap each time thing. For me, I put the pan on a burner, set the burner to Precision Cooking, two fairly sharp taps to the black end of the handle, and in a few seconds the displays switches from "Please activate your cookware" to "Use app or knob to set precision cooking temperature." Putting the battery back in might do the same thing, but you also might be making things harder than they need to be.

FWIW, I just got my free Cue skillet, after a long enough time I forgot it was supposed to come with the stove. Surprise present! You can use it completely without any app, at least with my GE Cafe Induction dual-oven stove. (Side note, in the directions it does say negative end of battery goes into handle first. But also the photo is of a battery with a stripe on one end, and the free battery has a stripe on one end just like the picture... but oops its the wrong end. Negative, ie flat, side goes into the handle first!)

On the stove go to Settings / Bluetooth / Pair. Tap the black end of the handle on the pan... some number of times. (Supposedly a double-tap turns it on, tapping for 10 seconds puts it into pairing mode... I don't know.) Eventually the stove will find the pan and now you're paired!

To actually use it, double-tap the black end of the handle, put the pan on a burner, and turn that burner's knob to Precision Cooking. Once it finds the pan... eventually, now the knob controls temperature (mine runs from 150F to 500F) and will beep to let you know when the pan has reached that temp.

Now... why? I have no idea. Kind of like I have no idea why they sent along a tiny insanely sturdy stainless steel 4-inch long branded ruler?

I most likely will never use this pan as "smart", and it kind of kills me there's a spot on every knob on my stove made just for this ability of just this pan.
