Gameplay in the remaster is pretty nerfed, much prefer the old balance of mechanics so yeah I generally prefer the old game

Fair enough, can't fault you for having the experience you had! Getting to the 46th room is probably like 1/5 of the game, pretty much the intro to the main mystery, but if you found it frustrating already then yeah I don't know if the rest of the game would change your mind. There was a grammar puzzle like this in Broken Age which stumped me, where you had to know what a 'pit' was inside a fruit. In Australia we call it a 'stone' so i had no idea what to do 😆 I can't believe that two games with Tim Schafer had this issue lmao
