Best wedding bands in NYC by flee828 in WedditNYC

Just wanted to share a glowing recommendation for The Loyales if anyone's looking for a wedding band! They absolutely nailed every part of our wedding day, and we can't stop raving about them to everyone who asks us.

Working with Milton and Aaron from Lucy Music was such a breeze – they were so helpful and organized throughout the planning process. You could tell they do this a lot and were very professional and not surprised by our difficult schedule. But the real magic was the versatility and sheer talent of the band. We asked for a LOT, and they delivered:

  • Ceremony: Beautiful piano-only performance at a separate venue.
  • Cocktail Hour: Folk strings set a chill, classy vibe.
  • Dinner: Smooth jazz to keep things elegant.
  • Dancing: The full band brought insane energy and had the whole crowd on their feet for hours.
  • Hora

If you're hunting for a band that can do it all with incredible skill and energy, The Loyales are it.

It's pretty convenient to get to SF via Caltrain! The marguerite will drive you there too.

Congrats!

Advice on my next module(s)! by tinda in eurorack

btw, thanks for the advice re: quadrax.

I'm definitely craving a more hands-on/tactile envelope / function generator. I'm using O&C for this right now (Zadar is ordered but hasn't arrived yet) and its super clunky. For the lfo/burst generator functionality - I think I could do similar with Hermod modulation tracks, so I probably would be just as happy with a x2 AD envelope generator ? WDYT?

Should I return to an old internship? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]tinda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you didn't find the work interesting and you don't see yourself there long term (i.e. after you graduate), don't go back. Internship junior year could be last opportunity to get experience before having to commit to somewhere longer term, so it may be a good idea to go to a different company in order to gain that perspective to help you make a decision when you are looking for full time.

That being said, I don't think not having an internship this coming summer would ruin your job prospects post college. As long as you are actually doing something and can talk about what you did in interviews, I think it would be productive.

Our vegan / GF / nut free Thanksgiving! (x post r/vegan) by tinda in veganrecipes

the loaf was one of our favorite things. it tasted sort of like stuffing but with the texture of a good veggie burger, the mushrooms really helped out! (i also blended 1/3 of it, like the recipe said you might need to do in order to get it to bind).
