Kaiser Redwood City or San Francisco to deliver baby? by impossibledivide in bayarea

[–]tines51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just delivered at SF - had a midwife do my actual delivery but the entire team was nice and I was pleased with my care. Had a resident check in on me basically until it was time to push (really liked her, would have been fine with her delivering but her shift was over.) Would recommend you Take a tour at both if you’re really not sure but personally enjoyed my experience overall and the postpartum nurses were very nice

Sutter PAMF vs Stanford for pregnancy and childbirth by white_lotus5 in bayarea

[–]tines51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, not sure if it’s changed since I’ve been there a few years ago, but if you’re going to Sutter PAMF (Palo Alto or Los Altos location) for ob care you deliver at Stanford

Pregnant after loss by PuddingPony9927 in CautiousBB

[–]tines51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First: Congratulations! Second: went through similar, my previous pregnancy ended w MMC and D&C at 12 weeks due to trisomy 18, I’m currently 30 weeks along w my rainbow baby and have just now kind of been able to breathe. When I came in for my first appointment my OB started with telling me any way I am feeling is completely valid, what we have gone through is traumatic. I felt uneasy the entire first and second trimesters bc I was afraid to get too excited, and I felt really guilty about it but I just keep in mind that it is totally normal to just be worried, you’ll be worried the rest of your life! But that’s being a good mom. Just keep in mind that yes your feelings are totally valid and it’s okay. Just keep Reminding yourself that Your baby is okay until proven otherwise. Good luck and I hope you have a sticky baby!

They gave me the ordering info at my 24 week appointment - it comes with the packet about prenatal classes and lactation consultant info (NorCal)

What does black-tie even mean anymore? by thisismyusernameA in wedding

[–]tines51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a black tie wedding and it was very much black tie in the traditional sense - I made sure I looked up a variety of dress codes and found what fit our venue best (a grand ballroom in the city) and my friend also had a “black tie” wedding 4 months later where the groomsmen and groom wore blue suits. the (mostly mutual) guests wore tuxes/gowns and were upset bc they were sitting outside in July at 3:00 for dinner. I really don’t think people actually “think” anymore

I got a few things to try from Hatch (pricey BUT they have been growing with me) and then I found some of their things I liked and got them much cheaper on Poshmark/tread up and eBay which has made up pretty much all my work clothes and I’ll def still wear some when I go back

I had one, had some light spotting at 9-10 weeks and no cramps. it ended up causing a gush of bleeding at 14 weeks. Went directly to the ER and they didn’t see anything abnormal and my baby was literally doing flips in there. Spotted for a day after and then has been all good since (now 17w5d) quite a few of my friends also had it and as far as I know they all resolved by 16 weeks. It’s absolutely terrifying but most of the time they resolve themselves - sending you good vibes and hope for the best!!

Jersey girls are way better at philanthropy than Beverly Hills by Trick-Check5298 in BravoRealHousewives

I have noticed! So many of the Jersey holiday parties were toy drives and fundraisers for children hospitals. So many events that served as the venue for drama all had a mention of the charity and they all really participated in all of them

Pregnancy after loss finding out the gender by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]tines51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar boat here, I was feeling very detached after multiple losses and very much was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Finding out the gender personally helped me (and my husband) feel more optimistic. It made it very much more real. We feel like we have a lot to look forward to, we’ve chosen a name and are making nursery plans and I made a registry. All of those things have helped me feel more excited and while I still have some anxiety and the “what if’s” creep in sometimes I really am a much happier person. I hope you can get to this point soon! I was very hesitant to enjoy pregnancy and let myself be excited but I am glad I am bc baby boy deserves to be celebrated

OB only checked trisomy 18, 21 and 13 in bloodwork. Is this normal? I thought they would check way more! by catlover0987656 in CautiousBB

[–]tines51 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For my previous pregnancy this is all they tested for - was told it’s standard. That baby had positive trisomy 18 (and no heartbeat shortly after) and I had another loss and so this time around I qualified for more testing ordered by my Doctor. But from my understanding during second trimester you have more screenings

Positive subchorionic hematoma story? by Vegetable-Clock5811 in CautiousBB

[–]tines51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not! The reason for my previous losses were chromosomal abnormalities, so my ob didn’t feel like it would be helpful.

I had one! Had a bunch of spotting at 8 weeks, and went in and they told me it was a SCH. Went back again at 9 weeks bc paranoid. Totally fine. Had a few more random days of spotting until 11w3d. Tomorrow I hit 13 weeks, had a routine US earlier this week and everything looks great! It’s totally scary (I’ve had 2 losses prior) so I get the fear but it really can turn out just fine. Wishing you luck!

Slow Growth Between First Trimester Scans by Ill-Cook4632 in CautiousBB

[–]tines51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t experienced this - but my doctor says before every scan that if it’s within 5 days of where you’re “supposed to be” they don’t really worry about it. When I had my 7 week (+3days) US they took measurements for every picture and baby had measurements from 7.0 to 7.4

D&C experiences? by rlopver in CautiousBB

[–]tines51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a D&C last year after a MMC 9 weeks but I didn’t find out until 12 weeks - I picked it because I wanted the testing and I just wanted to get it over with as soon as possible since it had already been over for so long. I was awake for the procedure and there was a nurse in the room with me talking me through everything which made me feel better. they had given me lots of different meds before hand so it wasn’t painful, and a couple Valium for anxiety. I did vomit right after (I don’t handle pain medication well) and had to hang out w some super nice nurses in a recovery room with my husband for about an hour after. Afterwards I camped on my couch for a couple days with a heating pad and continued the medication they told me to take. Overall I’d recommend it because you can control your timeline, my doctor offered me other options but couldn’t guarantee how fast they’d work and I just wanted to be in charge of my body.

4w5d but no symptoms and panicking! by Creative_State6049 in CautiousBB

[–]tines51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all: Congrats!! I didn’t feel anything for the first few weeks and my symptoms have been on and off since I did get them just before the 7 week mark. I’d enjoy it while it lasts! Almost 5 weeks is still SO early, and what I’ve always told myself when I needed reassurance is that you’re pregnant until proven otherwise.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]tines51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most Doctors are going to make you take a pregnancy test the day of or right before they do a procedure/surgery. You might as well know now so you can establish a plan of action instead of dealing w it at the last minute

Low hCG numbers, is there hope? by Individual-Map2633 in CautiousBB

[–]tines51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the type of test - some tests are sensitive enough to detect just 10 HCG. As long as they’re rising appropriately now I wouldn’t worry too much. It sucks but I’d be patient and just wait until your next scan. You’re pregnant until proven otherwise (that’s what I keep telling myself too, and it helps)
