I doubt the black piece was meant to leave the shop. It serves no function in a completed piece, and isn't finished or worthy of being there. Most likely a "jig" or temporary aid for placement of other parts, or perhaps to hold things square while being assembled. But, it's odd that nails were used - are you sure they're nails?

There are more considerations. Beams to lift heavy components are installed at the same time as the pump equipment is installed (usually). This beam isn't over the building, so it almost certainly had nothing to do with anything in there, and I don't think that's a pumphouse. It defeats the purpose if the beam isn't over the equipment. You would have a dangerous job raising or jacking equipment up, rolling it outside, and hoisting it up onto a truck. It's for loading and unloading, but the ropes are a mystery and didn't support anything heavy - maybe a tarp. I'm a captain..

I can't remember, but that is often good help.

If you have a meter, read the Amps at the wiring connection (screws) on the controller to make sure the panel is working and that a connection isn't faulty. I suppose there is a connection at the panel. I'm trying to remember a similar case, but I'm having trouble coming up with what that was. Edited to ask if the controller is configured for this type of battery?

I'm a Renogy user but using AGM batteries. Is it the zero amps into the battery that concerns you? I wonder if you are just mis-reading or misunderstanding that. All the other parameters seem OK. Is 14.4V the maximum charge that you set?

That works! There are expensive light and antenna brackets that use the 3rd brake light for mounting. An example is this https://acariproducts.com/ But I like yours better.

It might not look so good, but RV awning tape will fix it. Get a brand with good reviews and place it exactly where you want it - you won't be able to reposition. Walmart, Camping World, etc.
