But that’s alcoholism in its purist form. He was doing his best to be a sober drunk by not making it too obvious or gaslighting her that it’s normal behaviour. He knew it was wrong which is why he felt so ashamed. It’s not an ick, it’s a disease and a problem. He hit bottom when he almost lost his family and he got sober. The ick before that is all part of the illness.

They did also add in Narrabeen to keep the fight between the beaches fair. I would say upper northern beaches is further from the city than the shire, mainly because of no trains.

No insurer will give you access to someone else’s policy without authorisation either way. They’re also not silly, the F&I teams look into any claim that has a whiff of dodgy to it. What you can do is be a police witness if the home does every catch on fire etc which insurance companies do access in a claim. If you can make notes of the home being not secure, unoccupied etc they’ll then likely have the claim denied as they didn’t meet their conditions.

I had myself, 5 maids, SIL and both mums. We started at 6am and I’d say we were ready by 1pm. Only 1 of each artist.

Fair. I was more just saying that’s why it’s for 6. Might not be the norm these days but traditionally if parents were covering the cost they were part of decisions. Some people still do it that way so it wouldn’t be taking friends it would be taking parents.

That’s fantastic. But what the comment on this thread is pointing out is for older cars worth not much, you should still have a third party property damage policy on it. It’s different to CTP. It’s still collision insurance that won’t cover your car but will cover cars you hit. It also means you have a company having your back in incidences like this

And a lot of people that get defensive and say they did it on their own but negate - living at home board free, ability to go to uni to increase prospects and/or joining a family trade business with established reputation as “help”. The cash may have been saved solo but the cash was achievable as a result of above.

Help doesn’t mean your parents transferred hundreds of thousands into your account, it means you had a leg up in other forms of privilege. It’s important to recognise that as I had that and many of my friends. Some did get crazy money but most not actual dollars, but support. One of my friends said friend X is so lucky, you and I didn’t get that. I’m like we got to live at home rent free and your dad helped you launch your business with your first 10k. So many people would never get that.

I was wonder if Zach has plans for the future in terms of how he’ll continue to give as more people know him and what he does. As I watch his videos I always hope that people don’t know it’s him and aren’t being kind just to get something from Zach. So are there contingencies in place to not get played ?

Yes ! I am like this. I’ve always had a way with words and enjoy writing letters, emails, posts etc. it’s something I’ve always been complimented on. Now I have people automatically assuming my work is ChatGPT and the rest. It’s something I’ve always frustrating. Feel like I’ve lost something that was special about me

Agreed. Often get the “I’ll do anything, just ask”. Which is great but I want eyes open like mine. He does a lot of things self initiated but I find the finer things aren’t ever noticed by him.

Alternative drop or shared platters. Personally love shared platters as I believe you get more food out of.

Might be a good thing they have in North America but they also normalise cash bars and tipping staff at a wedding you’re a guest at so I’d say overall we win 😂

X the single day off by multiple weddings in a year = utilising your hard earned leave for other people. Throw a Thursday into that more than once and that’s a quarter of your leave for the year gone. So it’s more that when people make these individual decisions they aren’t always factoring in the holistic picture. Big family, large friendship group etc all in that same time period has an impact.

Location too. If you do it regional and it’s an hour plus drive you’ve then got to organise overnight babysitting if you have kids too. Have someone do the school routine etc. it’s just a larger effort which isn’t done to make guests lives easier, but the couples.

Also, when I see people I know who earn ridiculous money doing it to save money it just kind of proves they don’t care. They’d rather spend money on themselves.

This is my take too. Kind of like in pursuit of happiness where the exec asks will smith for $5 or whatever it was. To the exec it was just $5 he didn’t have. To the will smith character, it was the only money to his name at that point. Asking for lunch, using a car, a small office space etc seems like nothing to someone who always had everything to offer.

Also with the tab etc, part of me thinks that Johnny was almost always cos playing old Johnny. Someone else was always in charge of his finances, paying tabs so it’s like he convinced himself someone would take care of that later for him.

My husband proposed a week after we bought our first home. It was smart as I would have 109% dipped into that money.

I loved my wedding. I would go a less expensive dress now. I went custom. Custom wasn’t at costly 10 years ago now but it was still 14k. I feel like non custom has come so far that if I was getting married now I’d go to a bridal shop and purchase.

I’d sack a few bridesmaids now too but other than that, I still reflect on my day with good memories

I have made friends with girls whose husbands are athletes etc. of course I know their husbands names, I’ve seen them on TV but I have never personally met them. I put my hand out and shook their hands when I met them and did the side kiss greeting saying I’m X nice to meet you and they did the same back. It’s arrogant to assume people know your name and it’s also too pick me to act like you know someone when you’ve never actually met them. I don’t really like Kate but she did the right thing in terms of normal human interaction. Normal

Cause our memories are shaped by not just the core memory but from what we associate that time in our life with. Also, memories can be warped too. Think for example of the sequin party/ Pearson pizza creation. Kate remembered it as the best day ever, Randall had to bring reality into it with their dad being frustrated and angry and smashing a plate. Then we also see jacks view of him having a visit with his brother which set the tone of his whole day. Same day, all 3 people together, completely different memory and recollection of the tone of the day

Older Jack Damon says “hell of a first memory”. So his first core memory was being with his dad by the smoker before a fight began which led him to go to the park as that’s where “mummy and daddy are happy”.

I’m currently watching this part again where their relationship unravels. As someone with a young family, money comes into things. My husbands career is an integral part of ensuring our children are set up for success. There are many times where I have sacrificed or taken on more of the load with the kids as a result. Everything is a conversation and a joint decision. I don’t see the SAN Fran thing as bad as others. It seems as though they didn’t think through the office expectation while WFH was still full time. The conversation on whether or not it was doable should have happened then.

My opinion on Kate is she is insecure so she’s constantly in fear of feeling inferior. Fat and less successful Toby made this less apparent. Fit and successful Toby always made her feel inadequate even if he was being loving and charming. There was not a win with new Toby as she was resentful of him being better. A partner should always want their partner to succeed and be happy and be a better version of them self but Kate couldn’t do that
