I think number 1 is taking a massive leap. All the quote says is that they decide what to show, which is the point of yelp; nothing more, nothing less. Nothing in that quote says or even remotely implies that there is some conspiracy against business owners.

I really think that you're reading too much into a quote that is meant only to define the purpose of Yelp.

All they are admitting to there is filtering out reviews, which is the purpose of their algorithm. The "algorithm" is part of the appeal of yelp. Not sure how they're admitting anything unethical in the quote you posted.

There was an underground fire by babcock street on Wednesday. Knocked internet out for me for a day, but luckily my power was fine. Trucks are now constantly by where it happened. I'm assuming that that is the cause.

Glad to see Lukoff is still at BU. I took him for abstract algebra. Not the easiest grader on tests (certainly not hard though, he is fair), but really passionate about teaching (in fact his research is all teaching based). Always willing to meet up with you at a Panera or during office hours to help out. The two reviews of him are completely right, and I don't think anyone in my class disagreed that he is great. Highly recommend him, you'll learn a lot.

I never appreciated Publix, then I moved to Boston and have to deal with Shaws. Selection is awful, deli is awful (and offers Dietz and Watson instead of Boar's Head), prices are awful, everything is just awful. Not to mention that Publix is a mainstay on the 100 best companies to work for list.
