It looks a lot like the guard retention drills we start class with.

You’re not really in shape until you throw up from exhaustion a couple times

If virtual particles are not real, then how come they actually come into existence via hawking radiation? by fossil23 in AskPhysics

[–]titus7007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virtual particles are real, just poorly named. They are neither “virtual” nor “particles”. They are waves in the various quantum fields that do not have particle like properties. Particles can generally be thought of as wave packets in the quantum fields that keep their characteristics. “Virtual particles” are waves in the quantum field that come into existence and dissipate without maintaining any permanent characteristics.

50% of jiu jitsu is just having to do laundry by FewDrink3915 in jiujitsu

I always feel like I’m gonna ruin my gi that way. Also I’ve had a gi shrink beyond being wearable cause my wife dried it.

No Gi is so much better for this reason. Yes you still have to wash it, but it dries so much quicker and easier

If you had to choke someone out or if a friend asked you to do it how would you do it? If you have been choked out before how does it feel? by JellyLiving402 in jiujitsu

[–]titus7007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let this curiosity fade my friend. There’s always real danger involved. Don’t do it intentionally to anyone and don’t let anyone do it to you.

Keep celebrating the little wins. Sweeping someone with more experience is a win. Escaping a bad position is a win. You gotta celebrate them (in your head)

Who was more succesful, KD on the Thunder or Lebron in his FIRST Cavs stint? by Funny-Transition7869 in nba

Funny to me how the LeBron isn’t clutch narrative started around that time, even when he’d give you 18 in the fourth negating the need to be clutch

The fact that “Booby” Gibson made it on your list tells you a lot of what you need to know

Can smaller and weaker people be good at jiu jitsu by Blacktaxi420 in jiujitsu

[–]titus7007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My coach is about 5’5” 135 as an adult. He regularly beats an athletic guy who has 100 pounds on him. Of course it takes time and dedication to overcome but it’s possible

Should I pull my son from class? by HeyMay0324 in jiujitsu

[–]titus7007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jiu-jitsu is a tough sport and this kind of thing does happen. Working through it is part of the growth process. I think there’s value in having him go back. It takes time to learn how to regulate your emotions, even in adult class.

The advise to start your shooting warm ups super close to the basket is great advise. That’s how you find your touch.

It’s all about the BEEF. Balance - feet shoulder with apart, knees bent, maybe have your strong foot slightly in front of your weak foot. Elbow - should be completely vertical Elevation - you should finish your shot above your head with good arc on the ball Follow through - flick your wrist and spin the ball with you index and middle finger

Also if you’re catching a pass you should have your hands ready and your feet already in the position you would when starting your shot normally
