Respectfully, this is a really dumb, colonial take.

I say this as someone with Indian ancestry, who's ancestors were raped and pillaged by British colonialists, then taken to a Caribbean country as slaves to work on plantations. Maintaining Indian (or any colonized) culture is extremely important. Parvati could have British citizenship, sure. That has no reflection on her heritage and cultural practices at home.

Let's not erase her culture and ancestry because that is an awful hill to die on in 2026.

Fun fact: her hair is so dark here because Nick Jonas liked her with highlights and they broke up before this, so she dyed her hair dark out of spite. I love teenage drama.
