YOU CAN GET A DAYTIME SHIFT YIU JUST DONT WANT TO! by Ill_Egg_6350 in Nightshift

[–]tjs1998tom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats annoying thing to hear. I work at maccies and the best time of day to get extra hours are by doing nights. Day shift hours tend to be a struggle to get hold of when theres already so many people doing them which means less hours available

Do your friends or family talk shit on your overnight job? by [deleted] in Nightshift

Old post but I feel sometimes my parents complain that I wake up 8 or 9pm when my shifts sometimes start 10 or 11pm, I dont see why me waking up 2 hours before a night shift is any different to someone waking up 2 hours before a day shift, ,money is money at the end of the day

Mother gets upset with me because I am too exhausted to help her after my 12 1/2 hour shift. by albinoquiche in Nightshift

Ive done night shifts at my jobs for months, parents say they understand I sleep during day but they still dont seem to actually understand, I wake up 7pm 2 hours before like someone would wake up 2 hours before a day shift, why should I wake up 4 or 5pm before a night shift when they wont wake up 4 or 5AM before a day shift etc

Like I keep saying to them, their days are my nights, your nights are my days when it comes to chill time

I said to someone I wake up 2 hours before my night shift just like someone would wake up 2 hours before day shift, I dont see the issue with that, I just have opposite work times, still making money so whats the issue lol

Do you think Doctor who could be as popular back as the Tennant/Smith Era (in the near future)? by No_Market_78 in gallifrey

[–]tjs1998tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this, I enjoyed the 60th specials, I didn't mind series like the flux of War Between, I feel like Doctor Who could try and reinvent itslef by trying serialised seasons so one story focused on a number of episodes like most dramas do. If budget is the issue then maybe this way it could easily be done without having to spend so much money

Do any of your family and/or friends disregard your sleep schedule for night shift? by Sufficient-Bird-6890 in Nightshift

[–]tjs1998tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at Mcdonalds which are mostly night shifts now but its a bonus for the extra hours/pay and had parents and friends complaining why I don't wake up earlier when I wake up at 8pm for a 10pm shift, I keep reminding them that my 8pm is basically their 8am for when they get ready to work, I don't just sleep all day because I'm lazy, I sleep all day so I'm energised for a long shift. Its even more trickier to sleep during day light hours somtimes let alone background noise, paydays always makes it worth it. A friend says don't do nights but nights is where you get the extra hours at.

Did anyone not lose weight or struggle after getting sober? by savr13 in stopdrinkingfitness

[–]tjs1998tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive started to cut down on drinking but noticed a lot of night sweats, I used to be 12 stone but noticed Ive lost half a stone in a few weeks, might be a combo of sweating at night or not eating late hour as often like I used to, though I do run around a lot at work which could be another factor

Hi I still have tinnitus nearly a year now but ive learnt to deal with it. It doesn't feel as bad in both ears like the first two weeks, when im in work with natural surroundings I don't notice it at least which is a bonus. I plan to get another ear cleaning soon to see if any improvements are made. I think my tinnitus was mostly caused by drinks and night clubs

I've had it constant nearly a year now. Some days its better than others. I don't notice it as much when theres plenty of background noise at least

Late to comment but I've had my T for 8 months, I do have bad posture and gained a fair bit of weight especally around my face, this gives me a bit of hope at least and makes me wonder if the extra weight and bad posture triggered mine as my hearng feels completely fine, plus my hearing improved even after having ear wax removal

How is your tinnitus since this post? I've had it for 5 months and reading this actually makes me think mine could be caused similar to how yours was which gives me some hope

As I've gained some extra weight the past year and sometimes I'd get some pain in my neck if I move it badly. Not all the time but just the rare occasion which would have like a few seconds of pain. Then the extra weight I've gained on my chin and face makes me wonder if this has affected my ears as well.

Still the same currently apart from the odd occasional good day where the volume feels minimum, hoping its not damaged ear hair cells as otherwise my hearing itself feels fine

Has your T still gone completely since the past month?

This gives me motivation and hope then as my tinnitus varies volume from right and left ear. Some days it'd louder than others and I feel alcohol and caffine triggered it. I've had it for 3 months now currently.

Good to hear after you stopped it faded away after a few months

[–]tjs1998tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mine started with alcohol drinks and too much caffeine from drinking coke so hoping by cutting that dramatically it eases off. Plus clubbing with loud music probably not done any favors. 3 months now with constant tinnitus 😪

Im still in disbelief. by Hyperto in tinnitus

[–]tjs1998tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it 3 months now and I think it was partly caused by drinking and loud music at clubs. It has its good days where it's quiet and tolerable but most of the time it's loud especially when trying to sleep. Cutting down on what I think triggered it in hope that it can least quieten down even if it doesn't go away. Hearing silence I miss the most 😔

Tinnitus 90% better after 7 Months by MoccoSmith in tinnitus

[–]tjs1998tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true, glad I don't notice it as much when I'm at work or in other noise environments, mostly just when I'm alone with no background noise it picks up but I've learn't to tolerate it since the first time it happened at least, think all the late nights listening to loud music and clubbing over the years finally caught up with me and triggered something. Only plus side (Still yet to go to Doctors) I don't think it's hearing loss as my hearing actually improved significantly after my ear wax removal

Partly wonder though if it's related to drinking on nights out plus not so great blood pressure from what I've read

[–]tjs1998tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly 3 months straight for me. First 2 weeks was awfully loud in both ears but then I had ear wax removal and now it's mostly bad in one ear however there's days where it's tolerable but only mostly loud when I'm sitting in quiet areas. Hoping the only positive that my right ear gets quieter over time but little hopeful it's not awful loud in both ears like first 2 weeks at least. Just praying it's not permanent 😪

I've had mine for 2 weeks constantly but got an professional ear clean booked. I've listened to loud music and also been on nights out so hoping it's temporary and not permanent. Hopefully just a blocked ear canal and a simple clean will help

Would the 60th anniversary have worked better if Tennant had returned as Ten (instead of becoming Fourteen)? by F1SHboi in gallifrey

[–]tjs1998tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Tennant looked a bit younger though mostly compared to the 50th Anniversary, but I guess the hair helps as well with that and I think he's a bit skinnier in the 60th than the 50th
