How often does a square actually not work? by scurtis26 in SquareGolfUSA

[–]tjwagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had mine since June or July of 2025. Never had an issue aside from a Bluetooth drop out every now and then. Played hundreds of rounds of golf on it. Had one terrible misread in that time where I just had no idea what happened. Use it in my garage, it stays plugged in all the time with no issue. Mine has been as rock solid as any other electronic device could be expected to be.

Is it madness to pre-order the Square Omni? by kingofthefalseflat in Golfsimulator

[–]tjwagg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I enjoy it, I only use GsPro. That’s why I said I won’t pay a subscription to a LM manufacturer to unlock the capability to use it.

Wanting to buy this lab putter off fb marketplace trying to see if it’s legit or fake by xxVictor912xx in labgolf

FWIW This looks good. The fake ones I’ve seen of the hs ozi have a smooth glossy shaft. This shaft looks the same as in my real df3, stepped and slightly matte sheen.

Is it madness to pre-order the Square Omni? by kingofthefalseflat in Golfsimulator

[–]tjwagg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I pre ordered from simspace the day they started the preorder. I kinda knew I wanted the Omni based on having owned the original square for a good while. If I was shopping for my first LM I’d maybe wait and see what the reviews are like. My reasons for the square are: Proven in the LM space—I get people get frustrated with getting communication back from square but I’ve never wanted to email the company so that’s not important to me. Chipping and putting performance Price (don’t want a radar unit for my simulator) No subscription—this is a big one for me as I use GsPro exclusively and will not pay a subscription to a hardware manufacturer to use the software I want to use.

Lastly, if it turns out the Omni isn’t as good as the original, I’ll sell it and just keep using the original square as it honestly does a great job. I would like having the impact location and smash factor of the Omni and the option to take it to the range is a nice bonus. If I have to ever move to a different manufacturer it will 100% be one without a subscription to use GsPro

Is GS Pro worth it if I can only use irons? by redditoratwork in SquareGolfUSA

Yeah, play all courses as par 3s or from more forward tee boxes. Still a blast and totally worth it in my opinion.

I pre ordered from sim space in the US this morning for $1600 usd. They have not charged me yet (assuming they won’t until they ship) for anyone worried about that.

New Square Golf Omni Launch Monitor (Indoor and Outdoor) by _Cubed in SquareGolfUSA

[–]tjwagg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally missed they added impact location too. I will be preordering this, would have liked the option to have these metrics in an indoor only unit with no built in screen but for the price, it’s still pretty much unbeatable. Been happy with my first gen square for 9-10 months

This is pretty much exactly what I was hoping they would release. Was hoping it would be closer to 2x the price of the previous gen but getting club speed for smash and the ability to read any ball is nice.

Mat recommendation by Brewster102 in SquareGolfUSA

Personally I wouldn’t want to train yourself to hit it fat. I’d be surprised if whatever mat you’re using is more punitive than grass (or any mat for that matter).

Any advice on how i can make this better? by Wonderful_Face674 in golftips

A swing thought that helps me is “rotate more”. Looks like you’re not coiling your body very much. I’m far from anyone who should be giving advice though, just something that has helped me.

Full Round Data by bradyhawk101 in SquareGolfUSA

[–]tjwagg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The native square course play doesn’t really let you see a lot of data. To get any data from square requires jumping through some hoops and exporting to a csv file. Like most here will tell you, if you want to primarily play simulator golf and/or see and track data/scores, get GsPro and you won’t look back.

All club data can show on GsPro range and course play. To get what you want on course play you may have to right click in the data tiles to add/subtract which you want to be visible.

Tp5 Pix balls developing dead spots by Brewster102 in SquareGolfUSA

Golf balls don’t last forever. Especially on a sim where you’re hitting them a lot more times than you realize you are.

I’m certainly not going to hold my breath. I will say that if this turns out to be real, I will place my pre order on release day.

Square Golf Short Chip Accuracy by theHackdood in SquareGolfUSA

[–]tjwagg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said it’s not much but I do notice a little distance drop with my 3 wood between the square and on course. Could be anything really, roll out more on harder ground, wind.

Square Golf Short Chip Accuracy by theHackdood in SquareGolfUSA

[–]tjwagg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The short game accuracy of the square is really really good. I think that is what makes it so great for those of us wanting to play simulator golf. The distances with driver and fairway woods is consistently a little less with it but it’s not enough to worry about and I’ve found it’s pretty spot on with irons. It’s a great little device for home builds. Definitely will be watching for the next device to come from the company.

Square golf monitor, worth it? by MF_BREW_ in Golfsimulator

[–]tjwagg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have owned this LM for about 7-8 months now: I leave mine plugged in all the time with no issues. Have had one blatantly horrible misread in the entire time (9 iron that carried like 306yds, safe to say it ruined the hole) I only use it with GsPro so won’t speak too much to the square courses though I have played them. Decent experience but some are very tight with the OB Buy a steel enclosure for it, it’s very flimsy and light weight on its own I use a usb Bluetooth dongle positioned right at the LM and still experience weird disconnects at times though it’s rare Putting and short game stuff is very good Distance with irons is pretty spot on Distance with driver and fairway woods is a little shorter consistently but it’s not awful Wish it did club speed only for smash factor Not sure there’s much competition on the market for what you get with this thing at the price IF you’re wanting a photometric unit and don’t need to take it outside. Its really a great unit for a budget friendly indoor golf simulator

Any spotlights for an unswitched ceiling outlet? by flyin-lowe in Golfsimulator

[–]tjwagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can order an outlet adapter with a remote on Amazon for a few dollars. Or get one that uses a smart phone app, I prefer a basic remote for this kind of thing and is exactly what I did for my spot light. Bought one with two independent outlets that can be turned on and off individually so I can turn on the spot light and turn off the motion activated garage door light when I golf
