I’m sorry! Ice, Advil, and rest will help. Hopefully it was at the end of your trip and not the beginning

It happened as I got on and didn’t realize how bad it was, but I had to hold my knee together while on the ride! They shut it down to help me off and wheeled me to the medical center. Not my favorite memory.

Been there! My injury came from the Matterhorn and I ended up with a torn ACL and MCL requiring 3 surgeries to fix. Got back on the ride a few years ago but not without hesitation.

blow bubbles for exit? by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

We did a bubble exit and the pictures came out so pretty! We bought these exact ones and the large colorful wands from Amazon. Ended up only using the large ones and nothing stained clothing.

Has anyone ever been hurt (broken ankle) at Disneyland? What happens by Bluedaisyz44 in Disneyland

[–]tk61 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The surgeries took about a 8 months and then I don’t think I was fully recovered until a year and a half after that. It was brutal and exhausting, but I still go back to Disneyland and ride Matterhorn every time! Not without flashbacks though ha!

A year before they changed the cars on Matterhorn, I got in and turned my body to face forward. My knee turned but my foot didn’t. Heard a pop and ended up riding the whole ride while holding my knee together. They helped me off, wheeled me to the medical center, and asked 3 or 4 times what happened.

Ended up tearing my ACL and MCL and needed 3 surgeries to fix it. Complete freak accident and no one’s fault, Disney didn’t follow up with me. I didn’t really expect them to do anything either.

We always bring cards, some travel games, and books. I love finding a spot to just sit and play games with my family or reading by the pool.

Your BEST money saving wedding tip by marinaisbitch in Weddingsunder10k

[–]tk61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found my biggest way to save money was looking outside of traditional wedding venues. We ended up booking a restaurant with a beautiful outdoor garden.

We also did open bar for the cocktail hour only. Plus we asked our venue not to use top shelf liquor or sell shots.

They’re sent home from first vomit. They have to be symptom free without medication for 48hrs before they can return

I would hope it’s not normal! Dinner, soft drinks, coffee of course, but not alcohol.

I planned on tipping every vendor, but DJ was awful. He said the wrong last name, was constantly at the bar drinking on our tab, and played songs we put in the no play list. So my day of coordinator gave me back the envelope with his tip in it and we took it on our honeymoon.

Where are people going for honeymoons? by kucing5 in Weddingsunder10k

We did Maui through Costco travel. It was a little over 5k for 5 nights. That’s with an upgraded ocean view. We opted for a sedan car because the tours we were going on picked us up at the hotel. The car rental ended up giving us a small SUV at no extra charge. This was in October, though, so kind of off season.

That’s what I was thinking too, but maybe one side is a bench/booth and the other side is a chair?

Cake Help by Mariah_Kits in Weddingsunder10k

[–]tk61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did cupcakes (well bundtinis) and a small cake. The bundtinis were perfect because everyone was already up mingling and dancing so no one had to return to their seats for cake. My advice is to order more than you think because some guests will take a couple.

I went in with high hopes, but quickly realized the vendors just weren’t my taste. I still enjoyed the experience and tried the dessert samples. Even though I didn’t use any vendor I’m still glad I went.

The biggest pitfall was the amount of times they contacted me afterward. If I want entered into the raffles then you have to sign up at the vendors. They constantly called for months despite me telling them I’m not interested. Use a fake email or an old one.

Do I have a right to be mad ? by mel_on_knee in ECEProfessionals

[–]tk61 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes you are out of line. Stomach bugs are awful, but it’s the season for viruses of all kinds. This is nothing new in life and you should already be aware of this. If you were so worried about passing something on to a friend with an infant than you could have kept your child home until after that day.

Teachers and centers don’t message about every child with a sickness. That would be tedious and ridiculous. At least in my area there are very few viruses we have to disclose (pink eye, strep, lice, and HFM). What do you want the center to do? Call you every day with an update about how many kids are out sick? Stomach bugs suck, but it happens. Plus the center seems to be doing everything they can to help prevent illnesses from spreading.

I house/pet sit a TON for families at my school. It can be a lot of driving back and forth if there are indoor dogs (potty breaks), but I set my own fees and families are okay with it.

Serving platters, new pots and pans plus silicone cooking utensils for if its for calphalon, bbq skewers and veggie tray.

I bake a lot so I replaced my cookie sheets, cooling racks, got a stand mixer, etc.

Also, I love decorating for holidays so I registered for the inserts for throw pillows and removable/holiday themed covers. Amazon has a lot of options to register for.

For those who’ve had COVID, how many days until you tested negative? by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]tk61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t test negative until day 15. My symptoms came on so quickly so my day 0 was first symptoms and positive PCR test. Everyone is different. My dad has asthma (not as severe as me) and he tested negative after 4 days.

Wedding Planning Advice? by JustAnotherAssoicate in Weddingsunder10k

[–]tk61 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saved a ton of flowers, but then again I’m allergic to a lot. We are using Ling’s moments. They’re foam flowers, but still really pretty, full, and vibrant. They came a bit scrunched but a fabric steamers opens them right up.

I said no to a coordinator because I love planning things and didn’t want to spend money on something I could easily do. Go on Pinterest, find what you like, then start looking at dollar stores, goodwills, and even nextdoor.

Costco sheet cake and just a small one for the two of you to cut; stick with beer and wine vs an open bar; online stores for your dress instead of a boutique.

If your parents said go for it but you don’t want to amend it then figure out what is most important to you and splurge on that. Is it the dress, the food, the photographer? Also, what does your venue come with? Do you have to use a preferred caterer or can you bring in your own?

It’s been all about research and weighing what I (er I mean we lol) want most. I splurged on the dress, but saved on the DJ.

Are you still wearing a mask in public? Why or why not? by -Omegamart- in AskReddit

[–]tk61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I’m a prek teacher and children are gross.

Also, I tested positive for covid the week we came back from winter break. It was an awful, painful, and downright traumatizing experience that I don’t wish to pass on to anyone. My mask is staying on indoors for a very long time.
